Bella Swan was double-checking how she looked in the mirror. She still couldn’t believe that Edward Cullen had asked to marry her in their secret clearing in the forest… but poor Jake! He was terribly in love with her, and she was not only in love with Edward, a vampire, but she was also in love with Jacob Black, a werewolf! She felt so mixed up, because Edward was her love, and with Jake as her love also, she had two soul-mates! How she ever got through with her nightmares on that day on the mountain was hard to believe, but at least they had won that one. She checked herself one more time in the mirror. Her raven hair fell gently onto her shoulders and her caramel-colored eyes where bright with excitement. She couldn’t believe that she wasn’t going to be human anymore in less than a week … nor that she was going to be Bella Cullen.
Her fiancé was alike to a Greek god with his marble skin, his bronze-colored hair, his perfect complexion and his topaz eyes … any girls dream … was her love … her soul … her life. She couldn’t live without him now that they fell in love…
The door bell rang downstairs. Bella could hear her Dad, Charlie; get up to answer the door.
“I’ll get it!” she called down the stairs. She knew that her Dad was still mad at the fact that his only daughter was getting married one month before her birthday when he and her Mom had been trying to convince her not to marry while you’re young because they had and they had ended up divorced a few months after she, Bella, was born.
She ran down the stairs, nearly tripping over her own feet, just to open the door first.
Jacob was there, bare-chested as usual, and he was really looking down.
“Jake, are you ok?” asked Bella apprehensively.
“Let’s have a walk in the wood, and there, I’ll tell you if I am or if I’m not,” he replied simply.
“Okay, I’ll just grab my sweater”.
Bella knew her Dad had heard the conversation, so she said “I’ll be back soon Dad, and if Edward comes, please, let him sit in the living room.”
“Okay Bella, I’ll see you soon”, Charlie, her Father, replied.
So the two of them walked over to the wood at the back of the house.
“Jake, are you okay? I’m worried about you, you know that right?” said Bella anxiously.
“When did you agree to marry that bloodsucker?” asked Jacob, sounding upset.
“Since he asked me before that camping trip, before he killed Victoria …” I said, but I left that sentence hanging. It was still sort of painful to talk about, because she had witnessed Edward kill her in order to protect Bella.(There are two types of vampires … those that suck human blood, which was Victoria and all the other vampires in the world; and there was the “vegetarian”, meaning that that vampire would only suck on animal blood, which was Edward and the Cullen’s, his “adopted” family.
“Oh”, he said. “The day before I got injured by one of the new-born-bloodsucker to protect Leah?” said Jacob.
“Ya, it was the day before that”, I said. “I was really upset when you got hurt, you know, ‘cause I care about you Jake.” My voice was cracking up now, and I had that tingling feeling at the corner of my eye. I knew that I was about to cry, because that day was really bad, cause I nearly got killed for the tenth time since living in Forks.
“Bella, I’m better now, don’t worry”, he said, hugging Bella while she sobbed on his chest. She was so short compared to Jacob, who was about 6 foot 1.
“It’s just that Victoria nearly got me again!” she sobbed.
“Bella, we won! Even if we had to team up with those blood- … I mean the Cullen’s; we beat her, and those new-borns!
“Ya, that’s true … we did win …” she said, looking happier about the entire situation.
“You better get home now, Ed’ll be waiting for you, or he’ll find us himself”, said Jacob.
“Ya, I better get going… are you going to run home, or what?” she asked, grinning.
“Maybe… maybe not…” said Jacob, now grinning mischievously.
“Don’t tell me that you brought your motorcycle … if Charlie sees you on that your dead, cause you “apparently” crashed on that,” said Bella.
“Oh, ya I forgot about the cover-up … so then Charlie doesn’t know what really happened …” said Jacob.
They left the forest just in time to see Edward walk out the back door.
“Hello, dog,” said Edward coldly.
“Hey, bloodsucker,” said Jacob frostily.
“Boys …” I said carefully. “Can’t you just get along just for a while … please!!!!!” I was begging, cause they’re both my best friends.
“We’re no longer on that coalition, Bella,” said Jacob and Edward in unison.
“Anyways … we have to decide on where we’re going to have our honeymoon,” said Edward.
“I don’t want to hear this … but I really do have to go…” said Jacob.
“Bye, Jake,” said Bella.
“See you at the meeting tonight,” said Edward. Jacob left the property.
“Anyways … where do you want to honeymoon?” asked Edward.
“Hmm …” I said. “How about Alaska, cause we’re going to college there anyways … and the cloudy forecast …” I said.
“Maybe … but I was thinking about England … it’s always foggy there …” said Edward.
“That sounds like fun!” I exclaimed.
“You actually like that idea? I thought you wanted to go somewhere sunny …” said Edward.
“But then you wouldn’t be able to go out with me if we did … unless some sorta storm comes …”
“You know what? England sounds like a lot of fun!” said Edward.
Bella threw herself into his arms, and he hugged her gently back, and they kissed passionately, but briefly, because Charlie walked in on them …
