Rapunzel narrowed her eyes and wondered what in Merlin's Beard was going on. She opened her mouth and was about to say something when she realized that Claudian had said something to her.
"We'll dicuss this someplace else," Rapunzel said in a low, soft voice so that only Jayden could hear. Then she turned to Claudian and was cheered up immensely by his mentioning of chocolate.

She didn't seem like a candy-perfume girl, but he guessed no one could resist a good Pepper Imp. Not even the Death-Eaters daughter. He liked seeing people out of their school uniforms. It got so repetitive after a while. But, perhaps he liked seeing her out of her school uniform more than he was comfortable admitting to himself. He popped a pill of tart crystallized pineapple into his mouth to forget these thoughts. He also made a mental note to never refer to Diabolica by her real last name outside of Hogwarts and he knew exactly why.
"Oh wonderful! Chocolate!" Rapunzel beamed and scooped up two bars of the world's best chocolate.
"Thank you ever so much, Mr. Slughorn!" She was about to add something clever....but then someone she didn't know had entered the shop.

Rapunzel raised one eyebrow and shot a glance at Jayden before nodding towards Josh. She would have shaken his hand, but one hand held two chocolate bars and the other was still clutching half-melted sugar quills.
"Nice to meet you, Josh," Rapunzel smiled stiffly, then realized that Claudian had also introduced Diabolica as Diabolica Black.
'Why?!' she thought with a most puzzled expression clouding her face.
'So Claudian and Diabolica are in on something...like spies...or Death Eaters...' Rapunzel crinkled her nose and tried to put the puzzle pieces together...but she was a blonde, after all...and thus she just couldn't figure it out.
One of these days, she was going to somehow discover the password to the Slytherin Common Room....or else figure out where all these eccentric kids came up with their odd plots and why they changed their last names. There had to be a connection somewhere....maybe it was the crystallized pineapple?
"How is that pineapple, Claudian? Delicious, eh? Would you recommend it?" Rapunzel blurted out suddenly. Then she blushed as she realized how out of the blue that must sound.
"I'm just...trying to sample some of the delicious local candy....what would you recommend?" Rapunzel almost winced as she realized afterwards how terrible that sounded...so she turned to the other boy.
"Or you, Josh, what type of candy do you prefer?"
She blinked and clutched her sugar quills a little tighter.
