Default And Then There Was Light - Sa13+

This is my first attempt at writing an FF.This is about a common witch and a wizard who are affected by Lord Voldemort and Harry Potter and what he did.
It is not very big, but I will post it in four parts. I am posting the first two parts here, and I will update this as soon as I can.

There are two things I want to say:
1. If there are any mistakes(and I've tried my best to make sure that there aren't any), please tell me about it.
2. I will always welcome constructive criticism. But, please don't say really bad things about my writing, as I am only beginning, and don't discourage me too much.

And Then There Was Light

Part I
=======

“Ian, wait! I’m coming, wait for me!” Her auburn hair flying all about her, six year old Mia ran after her brother over a country lane in Sussex. The walls of the Manor House loomed before them, as she caught up with her brother who was standing looking at the house curiously. Ian fingered the lock on the door. “Looks like we’ll have to climb over the walls!”, he said, and started clambering up the wall instantly, holding on to the crevices in the wall. Mia followed him, suddenly feeling uneasy. She was afraid that dark and terrible things awaited them beyond the walls. Then, while Ian climbed up and she could not see him any longer, she was falling into the darkness, the shadows surrounding her, holding her captive……………….

Mia sat up in bed, sweating. With trembling fingers, the twenty five year old Auror turned on the light and reached for her wand. Gripping the wand firmly in hand, as though it would protect her from the shadows that surfaced in her mind every night, she got up and looked at the clock hanging on the bedroom wall, beside a framed piece of parchment - a glowing report of the twenty year old trainee Auror Amelia Townsend, signed “Harry Potter, Auror Dept. It was already five to six.
”There’ll be no point in going back to bed, so I might as well get ready and head out to office,” she thought, walking to the kitchen to make coffee.

As she stood in front of the mirror, surveying her hair, she wondered if she would ever escape from these demons of shadow and darkness that had accompanied her dreams ever since she could remember.Would there be no respite? Would she never get rid of these nightmares, these strange fears? How could she?
Most importantly, who would help her?

When she met her friend and colleague Linda Peterson at the Ministry, she had her answer.

Part II
=======
As Mia waited in the sitting room of Michael Cooper, looking down at the light of the city through the window, she wondered if she had done the right thing in coming here. Her mind went back to the conversation she had had with Linda a week earlier. When she had told Linda-who was the only person who knew about her nightmares-that she wanted help, Linda had told her about Mr. Michael Cooper, an expert in psychology, probably the only one in the wizarding world. After a week, during which Mia had debated on the pros and cons of going to a virtual stranger with such a problem, she had finally decided to make an appointment with Mr. Cooper .

“Do sit down, Miss Townsend.” Turning, Mia saw a tall man with green eyes and blonde hair standing before her.
“I’m Michael Cooper,” he said,holding out his hand.
“Amelia Townsend,” said Mia, taking his hand. As she sat down on the sofa, with Michael Cooper sitting before her, he said, “Miss Townsend, please feel free to tell me your problem. Miss Peterson told me I could help you.”

“Well, I keep having a recurring nightmare. It’s about me and my brother Ian in an old Manor House,” she started hesitatingly, and then, continued to tell him about the dream. Mr Cooper was a very attentive listener, and he did not interrupt her as she described the House, the wall which Ian had climbed, the fall and then the darkness.
“Sometimes, I think it’s something that really happened, and sometimes I’m not so sure that it really happened. I was so small, and it’s so difficult to remember such things,” she ended.

Michael Cooper said, “Miss Townsend, if I am to help you, you must tell me all about your life so that it helps me understand your psychology. Are you ready to trust me with that?”
Mia thought for a moment, biting her lip. Then, drawing in a deep breath, she said, "Mr. Cooper, I think I am ready to tell you anything that might help you in solving my problem. Actually, there is nothing in my life that I would need or want to conceal,” she added. What she did not say was that she found herself trusting this man with those kind eyes and that assured manner.

“Do call me Michael,” he said. “And we could start tomorrow, if you like. Or, maybe you would like some more time?”

“No, we will start tomorrow, as you suggested. And, call me Mia.”

“I was born in Sussex. I had a very normal childhood, doing all the things that most young witches and wizards do. Ian was ten years older than me. He was a very wonderful brother, and I loved him. In school, he was a year below Harry Potter. He joined with the D.A. after Dumbledore’s death. He used to tell me stories about Dumbledore when he returned from Hogwarts. When I was six, he died. Although my parents always told me that his death was an accident, I believe he was killed. You see, this was just after Harry Potter defeated Lord Voldemort, and many of his followers were still around……”
Michael listened attentively as she told him of her school life at Hogwarts and then her appointment as an Auror. When she had finished, he asked, “The dream you spoke about,t hat would be around the time of your brother’s death, would it not?”
“Yes.”
“Hmm. That’s interesting.”
“Why? Do you think it has anything to do with his death?”
“I cannot say that.”
As Mia got up,Michael accompanied her to the door. “So,we will meet again tomorrow, Mia,” he said.
