Megan walked into the lab and looked at the blackboard and read:

"Potion #1: Shrinking Solution

1. Add 14L of water to cauldron and heat to boiling.
2. Evenly chop 9 Daisy Roots and add them to cauldron, stirring 15 times anticlockwise.
3. Add a sprinkle or two of salt to the solution
4. Skin a shrivelfig and throw it over your left shoulder into the solution.
5. Stir 4 times anticlockwise.
6. Slice a caterpillar and a rat spleen and drop them into the potion, stirring 14 times countrerclockwise very quickly.
7. Add a final dash of leech juice and take potion off heat."

Smiling to herself, Megan set up her cauldron and pointed her wand at it and "Augamenti!" Water started to come out of her wand at a steady rate. Whistling and twirling her wand (with the water coming out) around the cauldron, Megan estimated out 14L of water. She then pointed her wand to the bottom of her cauldron and said, "Incendio!" A small contained fire began to flame under her cauldron. Megan smiled once more, thankful for three very important facts: 1.) she was back at Hogwarts, able to perform magic again, 2.) she was a 4th year with more experience behind her, and 3.) she was a Ravenclaw.

While waiting for her water to boil, Megan chopped 9 daisy roots into fairly even slices that she was rather proud of. When she next checked the water it was boiling so Megan threw them into the cauldron and stirred 15 times anticlockwise.

Singing loudly and dancing around the room, Megan reached the salt, grabbed a pinch of it and danced back to her cauldron and tossed it in. Glancing around to make sure no one was watching her dance like an oddball around the room, Megan reached for a shrivelfig. She skinned it while switching songs midway, turned her back to the cauldron and tossed the shrivelfig over her left shoulder. She was rewarded with a plop which told her the aim was true. Turning to face the cauldron again, Megan stirred 4 times anticlockwise.

Megan reached for a caterpillar and a rat spleen. Swallowing deeply and thining of the two albino rats she had left at home, Megan sliced up the caterpillar and rat spleen and dropped them in the cauldron. She was careful to follow the directions on the blackboard and stirred the contents of her cauldron 14 times counterclockwise as quickly as she safely could.

Knowing she was nearing to the end of the potion, Megan switched to a Muggle Backstreet Boy song and once more began to sing her lungs out. She grabbed a vial of leech juice and put a dash of it in her cauldron and extingushed the fire under the cauldron. Taking extra caution, Megan lugged the cauldron away from where her fire was and stood next to it waiting for the Professor to come over and check her work.
