Finally, Saylie's cauldron was boiling. Breathing a mental sigh of relief, she glanced back up at the directions, checking the next step. Add in the daisy roots and stir 15 times anticlockwise. "Gotcha," She whispered, nodding slightly. She added the daisy roots, and started stirring, muttering the numbers under her breath.
"12, 13, 14 & 15. Okay, salt now." She sprinkled some salt in and turned to skin the shrivel fig. "Throw over you left shoulder. Well, that's odd, but okay." Turning around, Saylie glanced down, trying to determine the location of the cauldron near her back. Praying she was close, she tossed the shrivelfig, barely making it in. Turning back to the potion, she stirred it four times in the same direction she'd stirred earlier.
Next step, slice a caterpillar and a rat spleen and drop them in, stirring counterclockwise. Wasn't "counter" the same as "anti"? Saylie sure hoped so.
She sliced the caterpillar and the rat spleen with a small shudder of distaste, but did admirably well considering she hated dead anything, much less slicing up something dead. She quickly dropped them in and stirred rapidly counterclockwise fifteen times, just wanting to be done with this step.
Okay, finally add a dash of leech juice and remove the potion from the heat. Saylie didn't know exactly how much a 'dash' was, but she just added a small bit and hoped for the best, watching as her potion took on a green tinge that grew brighter, almost the shade of grass.
Saylie was slightly alarmed and raised her hand, while already asking, "Professor, is this potion supposed to be this strange green color?" She felt that her face was probably similar in color due to the fact that she was frightened she'd done something wrong and the potion might blow up or something.
