Chapter Nine: Pranks Part 1

On Halloween, the decorations in the Great Hall were hung; jack-o-lanterns floated in mid air, real bats flew around the Great Hall, and so many other decorations covered the walls.
"So you actually want to call a truce between yourselves and Severus?" Lily asked James and Sirius.
"Sure, I mean, you lot are hanging out with him and from what you guys keep telling us, he's a really cool guy. So we're thinking, 'What the hey, let's give the guy another chance.'"
“James, Sirius, this is so cool!” said Keely, “It’s so nice of you to give him another chance!”
“Hang on,” said Remus, “Something doesn’t seem right. Why are you suddenly interested in being Severus Snape’s friend?”
“Remus Lupin!” said Sirius, “Are you accusing us of doing something bad to Severus?”
Remus pretended to think for a moment and answered, “Yes.”
“Well, we’re not lying this time.” said James, “We’re not going to do anything bad to our dear new friend, Severus Snape. How about we prove it today after lunch, by the lake?”
“Okay,” said Lily, “We’ll be there.”

After lunch, James and Sirius waited for Lily, Keely, Severus, Remus, and Peter by the lake. While they waited, James asked Sirius, “Okay, so do you remember our plan?”
“Yeah.” Answered Sirius, he looked over James’s shoulder and saw Lily, Severus, Keely, Peter, and Remus coming over, “Here they come.”
“Hey, guys.” Said Lily, “Is there anything you’d like to say to Severus?”
“Hey, Sev. Sorry about how I trated you when we were younger.” said James, “I’m just hoping we’d put it all behind us and be friends, right Sirius?” he added looking at Sirius.
“Absolutely,” said Sirius, “Hey, is anybody up for some chocolate frogs?” he added holding up a small bag full of chocolate frogs. Lily, Severus, Remus, Keely, and Peter said “Yes” and “Thank you” and Sirius handed them out to everyone. When Severus took a bite out of his chocolate frog, instead of tasting chocolate, he instead tasted something disgusting; tuna mixed with cheese, he coughed it up, glad that he didn’t swallow it since he was allergic to fish. Lily looked at him to see what was wrong and noticed the frog
“What the hell did you do that for?” Lily exclaimed to James and Sirius
“Oh, sorry Sev,” said James, “We must have accidentally given you the one we got from Zonko’s Joke Shop. Why don’t you have some water?” he took out a bottle and conjured up some water to fill it up with and handed to Severus who said his thanks and drank some of it. When he took a drink out of it but some of it went down his front. Severus examined the bottle and saw a small hole beneath the mouth piece of the bottle.
“Guys, that trick is so old.” said Remus
“When are you two going to grow up?” asked Keely.
“Oh, sorry Severus.” sniggered Sirius and he pointed in a random direction, “Oi! What’s that over there?” Everyone except Remus and Keely looked away and Sirius and James shoved Severus into the lake. Severus surfaced and sputtered angrily at James and Sirius while they laughed.
“That was not funny!” Lilly yelled as she and Remus helped Severus out of the lake while James and Sirius laughed. Peter joined in on the laughter, but when he saw Keely’s glare he stopped immediately.
“Then why are we still laughing?” James asked and he and Sirius continued laughing.
“Come on, Severus,” said Keely, “Let’s get you out of these wet clothes.” Glaring at James and Sirius one last time, Severus left with Keely, Remus, and Peter.
“Catch you later, Snivelles!” James called after him and-
SMACK!
Lily smacked James and Sirius right across their faces and left without a word.
