Post The invisibility cloak remains fictional

Over a year ago, SnitchSeeker reported that physicist John Pendry was working with a team of scientists to create an invisible cloak, or rather, something like a shield to turn a person invisible. The idea was to bend light around an object using “metamaterials”.

And they succeeded, at least to some extent. The team of scientists had high hopes after having concealed a small copper cylinder. However, it is a very different story when it comes to making humans invisible, for even if a person were to remain invisible under their cloak, or shield, this person would not be able to see the exterior of the cloak.

Unfortunately for those of you who were planning to use a cloak such as this one in order to steal a few cookies from the cookie jar, this won't happen anytime soon.
