I am so curious! Malfoy, tell me what you're up to or I'll turn you into a ferret and feed you to Buckbeak!

nice chapter! I so love how you keep us all in suspense! sneaky Christian! *pokes*
Well, according to Hermione, it was a dream...her hair wasn't in the ponytail Draco had put it in, nor was the emerald 'ribbon' in her hair.

Heh heh *ish poked*

“Why do I have to come, Hermione?” Ron whined, looking a bit peaky. “I hate it when you don’t tell me what you’re up to.”

“You’re just going to have to trust me on this one,” I said vaguely. If I were in trouble, Ron would be there to rescue me. I still hadn’t told him that Malfoy was at the school. What if Ron’s family was threatened next? I could not pull the Weasleys into this mess.

Shedding the invisibility cloak we were huddled under and leaving it over Ron, I put my finger to my lips. He looked petrified.

Inching down the bookshelves of the Restricted Section, I could feel a cold breeze playing about my legs. Just when I was about to call out Malfoy’s name, his hand grabbed my mouth and when I tried to scream, no sound came out. Drawing out my wand, I tried to non-verbally say the counter-curse but he knocked it out of my hand.

“Don’t try anything funny,” he whispered, grabbing my shoulders so I couldn’t move. “I can’t deal with that right now.” He stuck out his foot and dragged my wand towards him.

All I could do was glare at him, so I did. He chuckled, his eyes lighting up at my handicap. “It’s about time you learn how powerful the Dark Arts are, Hermione,” he snarled, his lips brushing against my ear. My heart skipped a beat. Why had he used my first name? Was it just an accident, or was he meaning something more?

His arms slid from my shoulders down my lower back slowly, with a subtle soft pressure. He was doing it to me again. It seemed as if my feet were rooted to the floor, but I knew it wasn’t a spell. This same thing had happened to me, back when Viktor had first kissed me.

My head lolled involuntarily, but I pulled it up before it fell to my chest. Malfoy was grinning softly at me; it was a smile that I did not trust, as it looked half sinister. “I always wondered how Mudbloods tasted,” he purred, dropping his voice so it was softer than a whisper.

My heart began beating faster again. This animal-type attraction to Malfoy I could not prevent myself from feeling, and it seemed almost like he felt it too.

He kissed my cheek, right by my ear, and his lips trailed lazily in a diagonal line to my parted lips.

And it happened, like an explosion. The moment we kissed, the most bittersweet taste erupted in my mouth; I wanted to draw away from the bitterness, but it was so irresistibly sweet at the same time that I couldn’t.

But I had to. Ron was waiting for me. I forced myself away from Draco, breathing heavily.

He gave me a quizzical glance, his lips moist and eyes glistening palely. “You liked that, didn’t you?” he murmured, casting me a devilish smile.

“You make me sick,” I spat, not even noticing that my voice was back. He must have lifted the jinx.

Smirking, he snaked an arm around my waist. “Sure I do. Just like you make me sick.” His lips glided along my cheekbone again before I pulled away and sprinted from him.

“What happened?” Ron squeaked when I collapsed, panting, into his arms. I shook my head and threw the invisibility cloak over us, urging him to run back to the common room with me.

When we were in the safe confines of the common room, I sat him down on a sofa in front of the fire.

“Now do you mind telling me what’s going on here?” he asked, looking extremely worried. He leaned forwards and his hand grasped mine, but I pulled away. I felt to contaminated to be showing any affection towards the innocent Ron, after having tampered with Draco.

“Bad book. It was a horrible book.” I wiped some sweat from my face. “Let’s forget about it.”

“Why was the book so bad? It didn’t have any words?” Ron joked.

I glared at him. “Forget it, Ron. I need to go to bed.”

Running up to my dormitory, I slammed the door and threw myself onto my bed, crying.
