Hogwarts RPG Name:

Default The pattern

In the "myth pattern" that most stories follow, the hero comes back to the normal world at the end of the adventure. Normally he/she has gained some knowledge. In all of the Harry Potter books, They begin with Harry in the "normal" world and he leaves via some method to the world of Magic. At the end he always returns to the "normal" world. However, in the last book, he no longer needs to return to the normal world as he can stay in the world of magic, if he wishes. He does have a choice!

Death can be symbolic also. If Harry loses his powers, this is a type of death also and he has to go back to the normal world after experiencing life in the world of magic - with the memories. JKR has left many clues starting from the first book as to what may happen in the end. I would suggest you reading the parts where Harry has dreams where he does not remember the dream in the morning.

I expect Harry and crew will have several adventures as they recover and destroy the Horcruxes. I don't think Harry is one, I have read many excellent essays on why he not one. I expect the solution Harry uses to destroy Lord V. will use logic that Lord V does not understand. Also realize that in Harry's family permission is given via Lilly to allow Harry to choose to be sacrificed. Also Ron did the same thing in the wizard chess game in book one.

So for me the "solutions" will be the reason to read the book and the real mystery of book seven. So if a spoiler yells out who died while I am purchasing the book - I will just laugh - it is not the reason I am reading the book to find out who lives and dies. It is the hero's journey...
