His brown eyes flicked away from her and swept across the cafeteria in search of any trouble; when he detected none, he looked back at Verona.

"Ahhh, how unfair," Verona said, waving her hand about. "To stand around and watch us eating while you have to work. I would hate it. You should stop by my break room; there's always free food." Free super-sugary food. "Still. You are Head of the Cafeteria. And Head is nice." She flashed a smile at him and took a bite of her sandwhich.

"Unfortunately, I admit, I don't know much of you. I spend too much time locked away in my Department. I come out to eat only now and then, I'm sure you've noticed. The Department of Magical Law Enforcement is always crazy busy and now we have zee Quiddith Cup on its way. Ayiyiyiyi. It gets intense down there, I assure you."

And it certainly did. All the fliers flying through the Department, people running around all over. Goodness, it was a crazy place and she absolutely loved it, thrived off of it.

"Would you be allowed to have a seat?" the woman asked. "Allowed to take a break and meet your fellow co-workers?"
