A Giant's Thoughts
In a basket, a child rests
To the sound of an engines roar
Next to him, a giant sat
Knowing the child's duties
All the trials he must endure
He wants to protect him
From growing up too fast
His job to make him smile
To make the good times last
"Sleep little boy, rest while you can
Relax and breathe, and not fear
Forgot about of duty you bear
For you are safe while I am here
No matter what you are told
You deserve to sit and play
It's my job to protect you
And keep the world away
Don't think about the future
Just dream of having fun
Although I am not your father
I wish you were my son
Dear God protect this little lad
Let him know the taste of joy
Despite his noble destiny
Let him be a normal boy"
The giant wipes a tear from his eye
Willing himself not to cry
He couldn't help thinking of the past
Of the two now dead and gone
And he thought of their wishes last
To take care of their only son
Above the whistling of the wind
And the deep engine's roar
A sound could almost be heard, small and kind
"Goodnight, little Harry
Do not think about a war
For I am here, within your heart
The voice you can't ignore."
