Robbie Coltrane, best known for his acting as Hagrid in the Harry Potter movies, made a guest appearance at this year's annual dock pudding competition. He'd competed and placed second - only to be beaten out of first by first time entrant Darren Kaye. 1996 world champion Jane Kennedy came in at third.
The contest organizer, Cecilia Mansfield, said she was thrilled that Robbie had decided to enter. Quote:
"ITV got in contact with me and asked about the dock pudding and what went on. I think they decided that this sounded quite interesting.
"I think it has been brilliant for Mytholmroyd to get so much more coverage. It certainly brought more people in even though we did try to keep it quiet."
Congratulations, Robbie! We never knew that you were such a good cook!
