Hogwarts RPG Name:
Jacqueline Marie Granger
Sixth Year
Smile Because Of You - Sa13+
Run, Emma, Run!

Hello everyone! I am back once again with another FF! This FF is my 5th story and my 2nd one-shot! And, like the others, it is an H/Hr story. The story is called Because Of You and is based on the song by Kelly Clarkson. So sit back and enjoy!

“I hate you!” Mrs. Granger yelled at her husband of thirty years.

“Yeah well I’m not so happy with you either!” Mr. Granger yelled back.

“Why do you have to treat me this way? What happened to the sweet

compassionate guy I use to know?” Mrs. Granger cried.

“God! I am tired of you rubbing it in my face like that!” Mr. Granger snapped.

“Rubbing what in your face?”

“Just because I don’t behave like other husbands out there you think

something is wrong with me! Maybe I don’t want to be like the others!”

“I never said anything was wrong with you!”

“I heard you talking to you stupid friend about it! ‘Oh I wish my husband

was like yours Lily’
” Mr. Granger mocked.

“Well if you were half the man Lily’s husband is we wouldn’t be having this

fight!”

“That’s it! I’ve had it! After 30 years of putting up with you I’ve had it!”

Mr. Granger got up and was out the door in five minutes. Mrs. Granger was

yelling after him “And don’t come back!”

A little girl was hiding behind a door, listening to her parents fight. After her

dad left Hermione Jane Granger went to her mother and asked, “Mummy

where is daddy going?”

“He’s gone baby! Your daddy is gone forever!”

“But why?”

“Because he doesn’t love us anymore!”

Hermione started to cry. Seeing her mother like this scared the poor 5 year

old. Mrs. Granger picked up her daughter and hugged her.

“Don’t ever get married honey or you’ll suffer the same”.

“Yes mummy”.

A couple of weeks passed and Mrs. Granger still cried over what happened.

Hermione being only five years old learned only one thing from her mother’s

suffrage. That falling in love was a horrible thing to do. So after her mother

died, six years later, of depression, Hermione promised herself that she would

never fall in love because she didn’t want to end up like her mother, lonely

and miserable.

Nine years passed and Hermione, who was twenty, avoided love. But

then a boy with emerald green eyes appeared in her life. His name was Harry

Potter and he became the love of her life. They started going out, and after

three years, he proposed. Hermione accepted and in five months the two

were happily married. And in nine months after their marriage a beautiful girl

named Elle was born. But then Hermione’s worst fears came true. Six years

into their marriage and already they were growing apart.

“Hermione will you stop!” Harry yelled.
“Well if I don’t tell you to stop you’ll end up hurting yourself!” Hermione yelled back.
“I don’t need you to be my babysitter! I need you to be my wife!”
“Well what if I’m tired of being you wife!”
“Then why did you accept to marry me?”
“Maybe because I was stupid!”
“Well the way your acting right now proves a lot!”
“Harry! Stop!”
“That’s it! I think we need a break!”

Harry had then gotten up and was heading towards the door. Hermione

turned and was about to start yelling again when she saw her daughter Elle

in the corner, crying. Hermione then realized that the same thing was

happening again, except this time she was her mother and Elle was her. So

Hermione didn’t yell after Harry. What she did was run to her daughter and

hug her.

“It’s okay Elle baby. Your daddy and I just had a little fight. Everything will

get better”.

“Okay mommy” Elle sobbed.

Hermione just told her daughter this to console her. She didn’t really know if

things between her and Harry were actually going to get better.

The next day Hermione turned on the radio while getting ready for work…

“And now Kelly Clarkson’s new single ‘Because Of You”” the radio announced.

I will not make the same mistakes that you did
I will not let myself
Cause my heart so much misery
I will not break the way you did,
You fell so hard
I've learned the hard way
To never let it get that far…

Hermione looked at the radio. It was as if the radio knew how Hermione was

feeling and had decided to play a song that described her life.

…Because of you
I never stray too far from the sidewalk
Because of you
I learned to play on the safe side so I don't get hurt
Because of you
I find it hard to trust not only me, but everyone around me
Because of you
I am afraid

I lose my way
And it's not too long before you point it out
I cannot cry
Because you know that's weakness in your eyes
I'm forced to fake
A smile, a laugh everyday of my life
My heart can't possibly break
When it wasn't even whole to start with…

Hermione turned off the radio. She couldn’t listen to the song anymore. It

described her life so much. Hermione noticed at that moment that she had

played on the safe side her entire life.

“Now look where it’s gotten me…I ended up just like my mother” Hermione

cried to herself.

Hermione went to her daughter’s room and watched her sleep.

“Oh Elle, I love you so much. And the last thing I want to see is for you to

get hurt…just like me”.

Hermione made up her mind. She got up and called the babysitter to come

take care of Elle. Once the baby sitter arrived Hermione left to the Ministry of

Magic. Once there Hermione ran all the way to the Ministers office. She

stopped outside the door and looked at the sign on the door, it read “Harry

Potter: Minister of Magic”. Hermione knocked on the door.

“Come in” Harry said in a tired voice.

Hermione entered the office. Harry looked up. And when he saw Hermione he

stood up.

“Hermione? What’s wrong? Is Elle okay?”

“Yeah, Elle’s fine. It’s us who isn’t”.

“Hermione I’m…”

“No Harry. I’m sorry. I was so scared to end up like my mother that I ended

up being just like her! And I don’t want Elle to go through the same thing I

had to go through as a child! I’m sorry Harry!”

Hermione broke down and started to sob.

Harry walked over to Hermione and hugged her.

“Hermione look at me. You are not like your mother. What you did today,

which was coming to talk to me about our problems and to trying to fix them,

do you think your mother would have done that?”

“No…she was to scared and depressed”.

“And look what you did. You decided to face your problems”.

Hermione looked at Harry and said, “I’m sorry baby”.

“You have nothing to be sorry about! Every married couple has fights. One

isn’t enough to break ours”.

Harry wiped away his wife’s tears and kissed her. Hermione hugged Harry and

said, “I love you Harry”.

“I love you too,” Harry said.

Hermione was relieved. She had fixed her problems with Harry and Elle would

not suffer the way she had too when she was young. Everything was perfect.

After Hermione left Harry’s office she decided to go to the cemetery. She

wanted to go visit her mother’s grave. After buying some flowers Hermione

headed to her mothers grave. Once there Hermione put the flowers in the

grave’s flower vase and got down on her knees.

“Mom I miss you so much. But the damage you have put upon me when I was

young is still affecting me. But I decided to be different. I thought I was

going to end up like you, but I was wrong. I’m not like you because I’m

different. But I will always love you”.

Hermione got up and left. While she was leaving Hermione sang the song she

had heard earlier…

“I will not make the same mistakes that you did, I will not let myself cause

my heart so much misery. I will not break the way you did, you fell so hard.

I've learned the hard way to never let it get that far…Because of you…”

I hope you all enjoyed it!

Love,
Emma
