 Chapter 24
Hermione kept the secret about what Harry did to her for about two weeks. On July 7th, Kit came and helped Hermione with her wedding plans.
"So we're gonna need a HUGE hall for you wedding 'Mione." Kit said, looking at all kinds of wedding halls.
"Oh Kit, can't it be just a simple wedding?" Hermione whined. Kit gave her a Look.
"Hermione....please! Now, we'll need a certain amount of waiters per... oh, I don't know, about two every ten feet? And that would mean..." She drew a calculator with her wand, "About...50 waiters?"
Hermione gasped.
"..well, maybe we can get away with half that. OK?"
Hermione nodded, still gasping for air.
"Why are you worried about the price? You ain't paying, are you?" Hermione shook her head. "So then, what's the problem? If Ron and I get married, I"m having a HUGE wedding!"
"Is anything certain yet?" Hermione asked curiously.
"Well....things are getting suspicious. And I heard his mom talking about a wedding, and she said that sky blue would match the bride's hair perfectly. And your dress is....what?"
"I bought a gorgeous dark pink gown. You'll love it."
"I hope so. What's next?"
"Um..wedding guests." Hermione opened up her notebook. "Who's first?"
"Well, family from both sides, friends from both sides...me."
Hermione laughed, and started to write down names. Kit looked over her shoulder.
"What about Harry?"
Hermione stopped writing. She put down her quill. "W-who?"
"Harry Potter? You're best friend...ever?"
Hermione put her hands over her face and cried. Kit grew alarmed and put an arm around her best friend.
"Hermione, what's the matter?"
"H-H-Harry....he...he..."
And Hermione told Kit what had happened in the muggle bar.Kit held her hand over her mouth, and drew in a gasp.
"Oh Hermione...why didn't you tell me before?"
"I-I-I don't know..." Hermione drew in hitching breaths. " It didn't occur to me to tell anyone. Not even Draco."
"Well 'Mione, you had to tell someone, and frankly, I'm glad you didn't tell Draco. Think of what would have happened."
Hermione began to calm down. Kit held her until Hermione stopped shaking. Hermione hugged Kit.
"So what should I do?"
"Forget it. It'll blow over."
"Really?"
"Sure. Now let's get back to that list."
