erm... ok i'm Wendy (though i like to be called Wendyfer) and this fic is mostly Harry and Ginny with a bit of Ron and Hermione. My fave ships... *sigh* I don't own any of the characters except for Alison Edwards, who I made up. The rest of the characters belong to the lovely JK Rowling! This is my first fanfic so do be nice! It starts off a bit slow but moves faster as it goes along. I've kinda already written some of it so I will be posting regularly! erm... I think thats all I have to say except please comment if you like it!

Chapter 1: Life Changing Letters.

Ginny was sat at her window in Grimmauld Place, tears stinging in her eyes from hours of silent grief. One moment her life had been perfect down to the last minute, then one letter had turned every emotion in her body around completely. This year she would start her fifth year at Hogwarts and she had nothing to look forward to. The letter she had received lay on Ginny’s bed. It read:

Ginny

I know we haven’t been together very long but I don’t think this is going to work. I know you still love him, I can see it in your eyes. You know of whom I speak. I can’t cope with a relationship so full of secrets and jealousy.

Dean.

At first Dean’s firm letter had brought tears to her eyes, but the tears stopped in realisation when a second letter fell gracefully into her hand, after removing it from a snow white owl. She opened the letter with trembling fingers. Trembling with fear and excitement. Cautiously she slipped the letter out and began to read.

Ginny

I know I wouldn’t usually write to you but I’m so lonely hear with my lemon of a cousin and wish for as many correspondents as possible. I haven’t actually written to Ron or Hermione yet but I felt like writing to someone different for once! Has Ron had the courage to ask Hermione out yet? It’s so obvious he likes her! What do you think? I better go, Dinky Diddidums has smashed another play station by the sounds of it and of course, it will all be my fault! See you in a few weeks (I hope)

Harry

Ginny couldn’t help but smile, he hadn’t written to Ron or Hermione, and he hoped to see her soon! Then her heart sank. She was getting too hopeful again. He could never love a simple, boring girl like her. She pushed her fading dream aside as usual and decided to reply. But what would she write?

Nice to hear from you! Is Dinky Diddidums ok? I wouldn’t want him getting upset! I’m afraid Ron still hasn’t made a move on Hermione, but he spends most meal times staring at her. I personally think if he doesn’t hurry up someone else will ask her. Are those muggles treating you ok? I know you always get asked that question but… Ok I haven’t got an excuse. Mum’s going mad with worry, I think she’ll send someone after you soon enough. See you later and thanks for writing (I get lonely here too).

Hedwig spread her magnificent wings and soared high out of Ginny’s window, dissolving slowly in the navy black horizon. Ginny was amazed at how easy it was to write to Harry.
