Good on him. I do think you guys are being too hard on Yates and Goldenberg, because ultimately, they decide what will stay in the movie and what should be left out. Yes, there are many plot moments that are crucial to OOTP, but for heaven's sake, not every little thing that us fans like should be in the movie (I think the Quibbler subplot involving Rita was rightly cut from the film, because I'm sure they can explain it through someone else).
I thought OOTP had a lot of filler and focused mainly on Harry's emotional turmoil. It had a great story, but I thought it could've done with a bit of editing and be more streamlined and fast-paced. I think we'll get a good version of OOTP that's around the same length of the previous four movies. Not to mention that the trailer and the behind-the-scenes stuff show that all my favorite scenes from the book (Harry's detentions, Occulmency/Snape's Worst Memory, the twins flying away from Hogwarts, Weasley's Wizard Wheezes, the Harry/Cho kiss, the climax of the book, etc.) are being kept in the film.
The one thing I worry about OOTP is the pacing, I hope it'll flow naturally and not feel compressed and rushed like GOF was, even with numerous cuts from the book.
