That's what I've been thinking too, since the post where Lily mentioned that the rule about sex before marriage had been changed. But if Lily and Alex have a child together, that kind of defeats the whole idea of the two of them not expressing those kinds of feelings for each other before they did at Christmas. Unless they were extremely drunk or put under a spell that made them fall into bed together...LOL
