Harry had been avoiding Hermione, but with Katie beside him, he strutted around with her on his arm proudly. Katie, in turn, would constantly brag about Harry. Word got to Hermione and Draco, and Draco got mad.

"He's just with her to get back at you!" Draco said to Hermione one day after class.

"Draco, what if Harry has moved on? What if he doesn't like me like that anymore?" Hermione asked anxiously as Draco paced.

"I don't know Hermione....do you still talk to him?"

"Hardly ever. And when we do, Ron's there."

"It's a start. But really Hermione, how can you think that about Potter....Harry?"

"Because," Hermione bowed her head. "I know him. He wouldn't do something like...well....like you said. Why don't we just talk? Like, just get together, all six of us, and just hang out?"

Draco thought for a moment. Hermione looked up at him hopefully.

"If you can get Ron and Kit, then I'll go."

"Oh thank you so much Draco!" She kissed him, and ran off to find Ron.

"All of us? Hang out? Oh, that would be wonderful!"

Hermione hadn't found Ron, but she found Kit. And Kit was estatic. And she was getting Hermione excited as well.

"Yea, Draco agreed, and we haven't really been able to meet Katie, and I so want to!"

"Oh, I haven't met her either! But it should be awesome! I can't wait till Ron and Harry come back!"

"Where are they Kit?"

"Oh, out playing Quiddich or something. I don't know where Katie is."

Hermione sighed.

"Oh well, we'll meet her soon enough."

They had planned it for next weekend. Draco and Ron agreed, and Ron got Harry's ok. They had decided to meet by the Lake. Hermione and Draco got there first. They sat down by the shore, and Draco put his arm around her.

"I'm so excited Draco." Hermione could hardly keep still.

"I can. I still say-"

"Oh Draco, don't be so mean. Look, there are Kit and Ron."

Ron and Kit sat down next to them. Hermione and Kit immediately started talking about what Katie might look like, and Ron and Draco were questioning whether or not she was good enough for Harry. Suddenly, the girls stopped talking, and Draco and Ron looked up.

It was Harry and Katie. Harry was holding her hand rather nervously, but Katie was standing tall and proud.

Her hair was a golden brown, and she had piercing hazel eyes. Her figure was slim, and she was wearing a black scoop neck shirt and bell bottom jeans. She smiled at the group.

"Hi, I"m Katie." She said, and broke the ice right away. Harry relaxed, and led her over to them.

"Hello, I'm Hermione!" Hermione said excitedly, and shook her hand. "This is my boyfriend, and fiance, Draco Malfoy."

Draco stood up and kissed Katie's hand. Katie giggled. Harry smiled again, and sat down next to Ron. Hermione took Katie and led her over to Kit. The three of them started talking at once.

Unfortunately, there was tension at the boy's end. Harry was sitting as far from Draco as possible, and Draco was eyeing Harry with suspicion. Ron thumped both of them on the head.

"Ouch!"

"What was that for Ron?"

"I just wanted you two to look at the girls." Harry and Draco looked over at them. "They're not being stupid. Hermione and Kit immediately took Katie in. Can't you two at least be nice to each other?"

Harry and Draco glared at each other. Then much to Harry's suprise, Draco offered his hand. Harry stared at it. Then...slowly took it. There was a brief handshake, then the two let go very quickly. Ron sighed.

"It's a start."
