There was a knock on the door, “Severus? Albus owled me to talk to you.” Came a weary voice. Severus pulled his daughter off of him then looked her in the eyes and sent a mental message. Sit down and stay quiet, please. Scarlet nodded then sat in a chair and watched as her father sat in his desk. “Enter.” The door opened and in stepped a man with a big, black dog beside him. When Scarlet saw the dog she had to stop herself from moving to pet it. “Why is he here?” Severus asked glaring at the dog.

Scarlet jumped when she watched the dog turn into a man. Severus looked at her father then the man that was a dog. Severus snorted, “You could have waited until the door was closed, Black.” Black? Sirius Black? Awesome! Scarlet thought, her eyes lighting up. She looked at her father then tried to use his composure. Black walked over to the door then slammed it. “Better?” Black said through clenched teeth. When Black turned around he stopped, froze to the spot, his eyes widened.

Severus looked at Black and said in a low, dangerous tone, “Stop staring at my daughter, Black.” The man that came in with Black looked at Scarlet. “So this is the little girl you fought for?” He asked looking back at Severus. Severus looked at Scarlet then at the man and asked. “Yes, she is my daughter Scarlet. Did Albus say why you should come talk to me, Lupin?” Lupin nodded then said, “First of all, Sirius, sit.” Lupin pointed at a chair Black looked at it then grumbled something about not being a dog but he sat in it anyway.

Scarlet could tell that Black and her father didn’t like each other. “Second of all,” Lupin continued taking a seat himself. “he said that you wanted to hide someone but wasn’t sure where or how. He never said who-” He glanced at Scarlet, “-it was you wanted to hide, or why. Could you please fill me-” Black cleared his throat. “-us in?” Scarlet snorted but turned it to into a cough after the look her father gave her. Severus looked at Lupin then said, “Scarlet was taken out of the school by Lu-” He looked at Scarlet then back to Lupin. “-someone outside the school by use of port-key. She was then forced to-” “Dad, if it’s going to be about me, then let me tell it, ok?” Scarlet said through clenched teeth.

Black snorted. “Looks like even your kid can’t stand hearing you talk.” Scarlet stood up and got out her wand then strode over to him then in one movement she had her wand at his throat. “I don’t care who you think you are but you can’t come into my father’s office and insult him by using me wanting to tell my own bloody story against him. No, I will not let you use me like that. I heard you’re Potter’s godfather, if that’s true then you might want to shut up and listen like a dog is suppose to do.” Scarlet said smirking at the sliver of fear in his eyes and voice when he spoke, “’Potter‘? So you are like him.” Scarlet pushed her wand into his throat. “I guess you need a command like a dog does. Alright then shut up and listen.”

She looked at Lupin who seemed to look slightly amused at it. “That goes for you too, wolf boy. I wasn‘t told I just know. I learned everything about werewolves in America, couple of my friends were werewolves, in fact. I met a new one this year, here, in Britain but not you.” Scarlet said smirking. Lupin stood up and looked at Severus. “If she is the one I had ideas to hide, then you can forget it. I don’t want an ungrateful, little brat anywhere around me or Sirius.” Severus stood up also and in one movement he had Scarlet by the arms. “Do you know what you are doing?” He glared at her. “Do you want the Dark Lord to kill you if he sees you? Do you want Lucius to have to kill you? Do you even want to live? You told me before, ‘stay alive’ ‘I don’t want to lose you’. Well, Scarlet, if you die then you will lose me and I will lose you, and I don’t want that.”

Scarlet looked at her father and saw that he was worried even though he hid it behind his rage. Severus pushed her away from him and she stumbled back knocking a few jars to the floor. Scarlet’s eyes widened in fear, “I-I’m sorry, I-I…” She lowered her eyes and stayed silent. She didn’t look up even after hearing Lupin and Black say, “What is he doing here?” “I am here to see Scarlet.” Lucius drawled stepping out of the fire. He walked over to her then froze as he saw her back was drenched and he saw the shattered jars on the floor. Scarlet looked up and he saw tears rolling down her cheeks. He walked over to her then leaned down and whispered in her ear, “I know your father has probably told you what the note said but I want you to have something…it was my mother’s.” He kissed her cheek then slipped it in her pocket then whispered, “I love you, Scarlet, and I always will.” Lucius then stood up straight then turned on his heal and left by fire.

Scarlet stared at the fire wishing she could have went with him. Severus, ignoring the look of longing on her face, said, “Show me what he gave you.” Not wanting to get pushed again Scarlet put her hand in her pocket then brought out a small square box. Before she could open it Severus jerked it out of her hand. “Why are you being like this? Do you honestly think Lucius would use something of his mothers to hurt me?” Scarlet took back the box then put it back in her pocket. She then turned to Lupin and Black, “I am sorry for that, I really don’t know what came over me. Maybe it’s the fact that my Mark is different from the others.” Lupin looked confused. “What do you mean ‘your Mark’?” Scarlet took a deep breath then explained everything. From the point to meeting Lucius to after saving Harry.
