“Yes, Father. Can…can you ask if it could be your friend?” Scarlet said thinking about the man still in the house. Severus arched his eyebrow, “You mean Lucius? Why him?” “I…err…I just like him is all…” “Like him? In what way, Scarlet?” Scarlet stood up then said through clinched teeth, “I just don’t want to be stuck here being watched by someone that I haven’t met.”

She turned on her heal then went inside seething about her fathers stupid questions. Scarlet jumped slightly when she felt someone place a hand on her arm. She looked over and saw the smirking face of Lucius, “Did I startle you?” Scarlet smiled then shook her head. “No, I just forgot you were here.” Lucius got a bit closer to Scarlet moving his hand softly up her arm. Is he coming onto me? She looked up into his eyes and the urge to kiss him came back.

Jake would love this. Scarlet felt him place his hand on her shoulder then his other on her cheek. Lucius smirked then leaned in and whispered, “I’ll see you soon.” He let go of her then left, she was still standing in the same spot when her father came in a few minutes later. Severus sat down on a old musty couch he said, “Scarlet.” His tone forced Scarlet back to Earth, she looked at him, “Yes, Father?”

“Come sit down.” Scarlet did as she was told. “I heard that you and a friend of yours were the top two students at your old school. But you were top in Potions.” He looked like he was trying not to smile. Scarlet grinned, “Yes, Potions is the only thing Jake couldn’t do. I was top in my first year at Heatherton.”

Severus let a small smile escape then said, “I know you are tired, if you tap the couch with your wand it turns into a bed.” He stood up then went into his room and shut the door.

Scarlet got up then rummaged in her stuff and got out what looked like a hand mirror. She walked back to the couch then brought out her wand then tapped the couch. After the couch was a bed Scarlet laid the mirror on the bed then walked over to her father’s door. She knocked on the door, “Father?” When there was no reply Scarlet sighed then walked around the house for the bathroom. She was about to open a door when she heard her father’s voice. “That room is off limits. What are you looking for?”

“Oh, gee, I don’t know. Maybe, the bathroom.” Scarlet rolled her eyes. Severus pointed to the door beside him then went back to his bedroom. Scarlet was going to change into her night clothes but remembered she had forgot them. She sighed then went to the bed picked up her mirror then took her shoes off. She got under the covers with the mirror in hand. She brought the covers over her head then whispered, “Light.” The mirror lit up she then whispered, “Jake, the dunderhead, Sampson.”

“I heard that, Lettie.” A voice from the mirror said as the face of a boy with curly red hair and green eyes appeared. Scarlet smiled, “You know that family you wished you could meet?”

“Who? The Malfoy’s?”

“No. The other family.” Scarlet rolled her eyes.

“Well, what about them?” Scarlet smirked when she heard the eagerness in Jakes voice.

“Well…I met Lucius Malfoy…and I think I-” She heard footsteps then mouthed ‘I have to go.’ Jake nodded then his face disappeared. Scarlet smiled then got on her side placing her mirror under the pillow. She closed her eyes then fell into a peaceful sleep.
