I laughed once more, “I’m kidding, James.” “Oh…I knew that.” James said as he started to eat once more. “My granddaddy wouldn’t think of killing a deer. He lives in a forest and has many a deer visit his house.” After we had got done eating I was sure it was past time to go in. James stood up then took my hand and pulled me up. “Now what are you up to?” I asked.

James smiled then pulled me close, “Promise me something, Kris.” “Anything, James.” “Promise me that you will stay with me and that you wont tell anyone about what I showed you.” “I promise and I seal this promise to you with a kiss.” I went to kiss him but I felt something hit the back of my head and everything went black.

Almost Christmas

“I can’t believe she’s still out…it’s been five months.”

“I can’t believe you’re going to stay over the break for her.”

“Remus, I…”

I felt someone take my hand and I gave it a squeeze. “Kris?” I opened my eyes and smiled slightly at James. “You what, James?” I watched as James blushed, “Nothing…I just don’t see how it happened…I mean we were just standing there about to kiss when you fell and then who ever did it wasn’t there…even Dumbledore’s baffled about it…I…I…”

I gave his hand a squeeze when I saw his eyes fill with tears. “James? What is it?” I was shocked when James threw himself on me pulling me into a tight hug. “I thought you wasn’t ever going to wake up!” I watched as Remus silently left the room. I put my arms around James feeling him shake from crying.

“James, calm down, I’m awake now…how long has it been anyway?” James pulled back wiping his eyes, “Five months…next week’s Christmas.” James smiled then winked, "I've got something special planned...been planning it for if you woke up..."
