25. Sorting Hat – A New Year Begins A new term was about to begin and once again the Great Hall was filled with faces. As the newest Headmistress of Hogwarts, it was Minerva McGonagall’s duty to give the customary welcome speech and commence the sorting of new students. One by one, she called each child forward. The Sorting Hat was placed on each eager student and soon enough the long line had dwindled to none. After every student had been Sorted, Minerva waved her wand and the Sorting Hat returned to its usual place in the Headmistress’s office. With a welcoming smile, she invited everyone to eat. |
