Alan Rickman (Professor Snape) was recently interviewed on Canadian talk show
The Hour to promote his new film
Snowcake. He also mentioned
Harry Potter and his next project,
Sweeney Todd.
Quote:
Host: In movies, you’re working on a new Tim Burton film? Is that right?
Alan: I’m about to start Sweeney Todd. I’ll be singing a duet with Johnny Depp.
Host: Come on. (laughter)
Alan: It’s true.
Host: Are you excited about that? Are you nervous about that?
Alan: Well, let’s find out if either of us can sing first.
Quote:
Host: What can you say about the new Harry Potter film, ‘cause you’re in that. But it’s all really tight, isn’t it?
Alan: Well ... the new one? Just go read the book. (laughter)
Host: I don’t have the time to read the book.
Alan: The thing about Harry Potter movies is, you read the book and actually it doesn’t tell you very much because it’s gonna be cut down to and hour and a half or, whatever it is, two hours. And so it basically drives down to the narrative of the three kids. So we’re there as a kind of spoonful of something or other every so often.
