George had slowed down enough to hit the ground without damaging his body at all, due to the fact that Fred had used his wand on his brother, then on himself. The injuries that Joanna's tears were curing on George, caused by the charms and curses of the DE's that had caused their flight in the first place, were still affecting Fred, though, and he passed out as he hit the ground due to loss of blood. "Fred! Wake up!" George noticed his brother unconscious over Joanna's shoulder. He scrambled to Fred's side, holding Joanna's hand as he did. "How'd you heal me?" He realised as he turned to Joanna in his panicked state. "Do it again for Fred!" What he didn't realise was that Joanna didn't love Fred, she loved George. The curse cast on the twins was only broken by the tears of true love. It wasn't Joanna's tears that were needed. It was Layla's.
