There was no way to warn them. She’d told them not to go out after hours but they never listened.
Harry and Ron walked through the courtyard. Hermione leaning out of the tower window saw them. Seconds later the figure of Professor Snape appeared trailing their steps. He hadn’t seen them but was almost behind them.
Whistling and waving wouldn’t work. Running down to tell them was foolish, she was so far away, when Hermione smiled.
With a flick of her wand she sent a blast of fireworks, one went whizzing around leaving its trail in the figure of Snape.
