Hey all! Okay, just to let you know.... this is totally unconventional and really wacky; but I kind of dreamed it up, and I thought it was pretty cool. But if ya'll think it's a little to weird, I can change it. I hope it was worth the wait!

Chapter 37 (part one): Wow, who knew a tiny box could be so much trouble?


“Hold on,” Camey said. “I’m getting a 6th grade flash back. Are you talking about the box that released all evils into the world? That was just a myth, right?”

“Well-” Dumbledore began.

“What’s 7th grade?” Sirius interrupted.

Camey sighed. “Sirius, I was born in America, remember. There, the schooling systems are divided into grades.”

“But-”

“Honey, while the subject of American schooling is quite fascinating, why don’t we let Dumbledore continue?” Vi suggested.

Sirius flashed an embarrassed smile.

“Thank you,” Dumbledore said. “Actually Pandora and her box were quite real, however Greek mythology left out a few crucial points. Pandora was not some ordinary girl, she was a witch; and her box was not given to her by the gods, but by a very powerful, old wizard. I’m sure you’ve all heard of Merlin.”

Camey snorted. “Merlin? The Merlin? From King Arthur? You’re not serious!” she exclaimed.

“Of course he’s not, I am,” Sirius said.

Dumbledore’s eyes twinkled, but everyone else sighed. “Sirius what have I told you about that pun?” Remus asked.

Sirius wrinkled his forehead in thought. “Errr…. Something about it being idiotic, moronic, and over-used.”

Dumbledore gave a slight cough, his eyes still twinkling. “May we return to the point?”

A mumbled, ‘sorry’ came from Sirius.

“As I was saying,” Dumbledore continued. “The times in which Merlin lived, before King Arthur, were dark; there was no trust left in the world. For all anyone knew, the man next to you on the street was a murderer.”

“Well, that doesn’t sound too different from today,” Vi said.

“True,” Dumbledore sighed sadly. “But trust me, things were much worse then. Merlin was a young wizard, and he could see the potential of the human race; so he cast a spell to remove all evils from the world, and he stored them in a box.”

“Wait, what about hope?” Camey asked. “Wasn’t hope stored in the box too?”

“Yes,” Dumbledore replied. “Without the evils in the world, people no longer needed to hope that things would be better; so hope floated into the box as well. Merlin hid the box, and watched over it for many years. It worked quite well for sometime, but as Merlin was getting on in years, he needed to find someone to watch over the box.”

“Pandora?” Remus asked.

Dumbledore nodded. “Pandora worked in the King Arthur’s kitchens. She was a beautiful, bright girl, and little did she know, a powerful witch. But Merlin could sense her power; he trained her, and showed her all that good magic could do.”

“So, what went wrong?” Sirius asked.

“Merlin really was quite old, and trust me old men make their share of mistakes. Only days before he died, Merlin gave her the box. He simply told her that it was never to be opened, but he did not tell her what was inside. This, I believe was his mistake; maybe if he had told her of the evils in the box, she would never have opened it… but alas-”

“It was opened,” Camey finished.

“Okay,” Sirius said. “But what does this have to do with Voldemort?”
