Neither of them knew it, but they were thinking the same thing.
Aside from the duty to save Sirius and Buckbeak that Dumbledore had entrusted to them, Harry and Hermione had another thing in mind. This timeturner was the key to see their future, and they both knew it. It was their key to see if they truly were meant to be a couple. Neither of them wanted to tell the other, though, for fear of rejection and embarrassment.
Hermione turned the timeturner three times and off they went. Her arms around his neck, and his arms around her waist.
