Hogwarts RPG Name: Charlotte (Charlie) Elizabeth Jamison | Going Broadway <3 Sorry Charlie (hahaha! I crack myself up!!) lol. Nope, sorry, though. Immoral always loses. Except for maybe in my next fic... which brings me to my next point of...
This fic has been a blast to write, but is nearing an end. This isn't the last chapter, but the next will be. I've already begun my next fic (a Draco/Ginny) fic, though it's not yet posted... it will be called "I Write Sins, Not Tragedies" (yes after the song) but to see my conclusion to how I got to that... you'll have to read that fic (once it's posted. I'll post that first chapter, the same time I post this last chapter. Then I'll add it to my siggy. Hopefully, you'll read that too And here's the second-to-last chapter now!
--- She’d have to think about it. Sure, Lucius was Draco’s father, but she’d promised not to use the ring. And on top of that no one ELSE wanted him back to life. The rest of the world was rejoicing right now that he was dead! He was a threat to the mortal and magical world. But he was Draco’s FATHER…. She’d sleep on it. Right in the Hospital Wing.
“Madame Pomfry?” she asked into the open space.
“Yes, dear?” the healer asked, scurrying about the room.
“I need to rest,” Charlie announced. Madame Pomfry huffed and went over to the girl.
“You need to sleep at night, is what you need to do, and you don’t need to miss classes, but since you’re new to the school I’ll allow it. Sleep today. Don’t let this happen again,” she said, pushing Charlie over to a cot. Charlie lay down and closed her eyes. Between the first and second period, Ashley came.
“Hey, Charlie… you ok?” she asked. Charlie opened her eyes and saw Ashley. She closed them again, but spoke.
“Yeah… stressed, tired…” she sighed. Ashley nodded.
“You look tired, I’ll leave you ‘lone.” Ashley then left, sighing. Between the next two class periods, Draco came. Charlie had been deeply asleep when he had taken her hand and started stroking it. Slowly, she woke up.
“Hey, love,” she said, smiling. Draco bent over and kissed her softly. He then backed up, sitting back down on the edge of the bed. He didn’t speak, but Charlie watched him.
“I’ve been thinking.”
“Have you?” he asked, looking towards her. Minor set-back…
“Yes. I have,” Charlie answered. Draco watched her as she began to speak again.
“I-if you REALLY want, and you think it’s REALLY true that it’d be a good thing…” her voice lowered, “I’llbringyourfatherbacktolife.” Draco went wide-eyed.
“Really?” he asked her, genuinely excited and HAPPY. Charlie wasn’t sure she’d ever seen him so happy, which is what made her know she made the right choice.
“Mmm,” she nodded. Draco hugged her. They sat like that for a long time. Madame Pomfry had left for the period (tending to some… broomstick incident or something) so she didn’t notice Draco skipping class.
“I can’t let you,” he finally sighed.
“What do you mean?” she asked.
“I can’t let you.” he repeated. She looked at him, questioningly.
“You promised not to use the ring, I’d be a hypocrite to force you too. And I know the rest of the wizarding world doesn’t want him back to life… and s’pose if they were to find him… they’d come after you for your ring. I can’t let you bring him back to life.” Draco sighed, he wanted his father back, but he knew he couldn’t.
“I’m sorry your father died.” She said softly. A tear slid down Draco’s face, but Charlie wiped it away.
“I’m sorry your father died, but I’m here for you. I love you.” she said softly. Love. It wasn’t a word Draco knew well. His father never told him he loved him. Though he knew it was true, his mother rarely told him either. Draco didn’t know much of love, but he was sure he felt it for Charlie.
“I love you too,” Draco whispered to Charlie, and for the first time… he was sure he meant it.
“We have to destroy the ring.” She said.
“What?” he asked her. She nodded sullenly
