oh, great post! <3 Draco has an obsession with rings? Lol, just kidding. I thought it'd be a great connection for them.
--- “No way!” she shrieked. He nodded.
“No way, no way! That’s not even possible!”
“Well, it apparently is…”
“No, even in the wizarding world. That’s not possible! It’s not!” Draco nodded.
“I can’t believe it either, but it’s definitely possible. We just did it.”
“I, no, we couldn’t have! No, no, no!” Charlie held her hand over her mouth.
“We DID though, Charlie…” Draco said, he was smiling.
“Wh-what what did we do??” she asked, for clarification.
“We… well, we brought a dog back, er, from the dead…” it sounded even crazier out loud. But she had wanted to see him in 3-D, Charlie … had wanted to see her dog. So Draco pressed buttons, and here the thing was… perfectly solid in front of them. Charlie tentatively reached her hand out to touch the dog. She screamed again. Her hand didn’t move right through the back like it was supposed to, it stoked the dog.
“We couldn’t have done that! NO ONE can control life!”
“Except for you, apparently.” Draco smirked.
“No, no. I absolutely can’t. If anyone shouldn’t have that power, it’s definitely me!!” Charlie assured him.
“That doesn’t matter. You have it. You can do it. You can bring people back to life.”
“Maybe… maybe it’s just dogs,” she tried to reason it, “or maybe these are just REALLY good holograms…” Charlie took several deep breaths to try to calm down.
“Charlie… you can bring things back to life…” he told her.
“Oh, my, god… I have to tell Ashley!” Charlie gushed, the realization finally hitting her. Draco grabbed Charlie’s arm.
“You can’t.” he told her.
“No one is supposed to have this power. What happens if she gets power-mad?”
“What happens if WE get power-mad?” Charlie questioned in response.
“I think we should forget about this. Unless we actually have to use it.” Draco was doubting everything about this ring, and more then that… he was scared of it. What else could this ring do? It had the most powerful power in the world. What if… what if it could kill people too? Of course, it could bring people back to life, but it was still a terrifying idea.
“Forget about it? Draco, how could we? We could save lives… We could BRING BACK lives!” Charlie was excited now.
“Charlie… we’d overpopulate the world. This wasn’t something meant to be found, it wasn’t meant to be invented. That’s why wizards don’t have it.”
“I thought you loved breaking rules, Draco.” Ouch, blow to the ego (and the Malfoy loved his ego)
“I do… but these aren’t ordinary rules, Charlie. This is… life-altering. Literally. I think you need to think about this first. Sleep on it. We’ll talk in the morning?” he suggested. Charlie didn’t want to, but Draco pulled her into a kiss.
“We’ll talk in the morning.” He told her. “Come on, how ‘bout we sleep on the couch tonight? I bet we’re breaking a rule or so there.” He joked, smirking at her.
“Draco…” Charlie begged. He raised his eyebrows at her.
“I won’t touch you, I promise. I just wanna make sure you’re not calling Ashley,” he assured her. Charlie rolled her eyes.
“Come on,” he said, taking her hand. They had been in the Room of Requirement, for … privacy reasons. They walked to the common room, and Draco lay on the couch, unbuttoning his shirt.
“Come ‘ere.” He said, and she came over. God… he was hott without a shirt on, she couldn’t help but think. He smiled at her and she lay down next to him on the large couch.
“No calling Ashley, I won’t touch you.” he promised.
