8. Diffindo

“I can’t believe you! Couldn’t you have just left it alone?” she stormed off and paid no attention to Ron’s attempts to defend his behavior.

“Hermione wait! I didn’t mean to make Colin fall for you.”

Ron continued down the corridor trying to keep up with Hermione.

Stopping and turning to face him, Hermione glared at him, “Well in case you failed to take notice, your sister isn’t a little girl anymore!” she began to walk away.

Having had enough Ron pulled out his wand and aimed it at Hermione’s bag, “Diffindo!”

Hermione’s bag ripped and everything came spilling out.

“Why did you do that?”

“Because I want you to listen to me. Look I’m sorry about what happened. Believe me the last person I want to see going after you is Colin Creevey.”

Ron blushed and couldn’t believe what he just said. He looked up at Hermione and gave her a shy smile.

Hermione bit her lip and shook her head, “Just forget about it. Sorry for being so rude. I know it was an accident.”

Ron picked up her books and carried them to the common room for Hermione.

Hermione smiled at Ron as they continued to walk.
