Hogwarts RPG Name: Charlotte (Charlie) Elizabeth Jamison | Going Broadway <3 Finally! Hogwarts time! Charlie grabbed her bag by its handle; it rolled, and started running down the stairs.
“Charl-“ a male voice started but Charlie ignored it. Since her mother left she had talked to neither her mother nor father and didn’t plan to start now. Even if she was leaving for four months, or more if she didn’t come home for the holidays (which she wasn’t planning on doing). Charlie could bring herself to Kings Cross Station; it’d be no problem. She’d call the Knight Bus. Living in a non-muggle society could do great things. Charlie held her wand out in front of her.
“Lumos.” She said softly. Maybe she was hoping the ministry wouldn’t hear her? It didn’t matter, the Knight Bus came rushing by her, having to back up – it was going so fast – only a few seconds later. A pimple-faced teenager opened the door and began to speak.
“Stuff it, I need to go to Kings Cross Station.” Charlie said hastily. She didn’t have much patience, she wanted to get to the train and Stan Shunpike was not going to stand in her way. For a normally polite girl, she could be awfully rude. Stan grumbled and closed the door as the girl got in with her bag. Charlie sat on a bed, seeming not to notice that the bus was slamming around. Finally, the bus got to the station.
“Thank you.” Charlie said gruffly as she got off the bus and ran into the station, ticket in hand. She rushed right to the barrier where she almost ran into two other wizarding families. Both were purebloods, and both were fighting.
“Just let us get on through the barrier!”
“You don’t deserve to.”
“Just wait until the Ministry hears about this one…”
A cackle, “Like I’m afraid of the Ministry? They don’t scare me and neither do you. If you would like me to move, make me.” Charlie cleared her throat towards the two fathers that were fighting. One was redheaded and slightly heavy-set and the other was tall and thin with flowing white-blonde hair. The redhead man was named Arthur Weasley and he was guarding his family of a heavy-set woman with red hair and two children (though Charlie knew there was more). One of the children was tall with the same red hair; he was also pretty gangly and had green eyes. That one was Ron, he was in Charlie’s year. The other child was Ginny; she was a year younger. She was shorter, and thin with straight red hair and green eyes as well. Anyone could see she was extremely pretty. The other family was the Malfoys. The father, Lucius. A petite woman who also had white-blonde hair. Both had grey eyes. The woman was Narcissa. Their child was Draco, also in Charlie’s year. He was in Slytherin, also like Charlie. He was definitely the hottest boy in the grade, in Charlie’s book. He was tall, thin, he had a very angular face but for him it worked. He, like his parents, had white-blond hair and grey eyes. Everyone in both families looked at Charlie.
“Can I help you?” Lucius asked.
“Yes, I don’t give a damn if you two fight, but I have to get on the train to Hogwarts before it leaves.” She stated simply. Lucius was shocked, and stepped away. After Charlie went through the barrier, the Weasley family came, and then the Malfoy family followed.
“’Bye!” Mrs. Weasley called after her (highly embarrassed) children.
“Bye.” Mrs. Malfoy said to her son. Charlie had no one to say good-bye to her this year, but she didn’t care. She just got on the train and went to her usual, empty compartment. 13, unlucky in the wizarding world, always empty.
“Impressive.” Someone said. It was a boy, Charlie could tell just by hearing it while she put her trunk on the rack above the seats. She didn’t know who the boy was though.
“Me putting up my trunk?” Charlie asked, as she spun around. It was Draco Malfoy. He chuckled.
“No, yelling at my father. And the Weasley father, not that he’s a big threat.” Draco had been leaning on the doorpost, but now just let himself in. He looked around the compartment.
“No one to sit with?” he asked her. Wow, Draco had never even talked to Charlie before, and now here he was… in her compartment.
“What’s it to you?” she asked in a huff as she sat down. Draco shrugged.
“Not much, actually.” He answered smoothly. In her head, Charlie swooned.
“Well, yes, I’m expecting someone.” Charlie replied.
“Someone…? As in one person?” Draco asked, though continued, “Then you won’t mind if I stay.”
“Actually I-“ Draco cut Charlie off by looking her, and she stopped. Draco raised an eyebrow.
“You won’t like my company.” Charlie shrugged.
“I won’t?” Draco asked.
“No, she’s a muggle-born. I’m not stupid, I know you hate them.” She said.
“Well, I could give them a try.” Draco smirked. Charlie nearly died.
“Then you can stay, but if you insult her, even once, I’ll hex your balls off.” Charlie smirked in return, just as Ashley came in, hauling her own trunk. Ashley was very girly and had tons of make-up and clothes (that she wouldn’t even get to wear, considering there was a uniform).
“What’s he doing here?” Ashley asked, wrinkling her nose.
“Way to greet a guest.” Draco said, smirking still.
“He asked to sit with us.” Charlie answered. Ashley looked right at him.
“You know I’m a muggle-born, right??” She asked, pointedly.
“Yes.” Draco answered coolly. Ashley shrugged.
“Well, ‘lo then. I’m Ashley.” She introduced herself.
“Draco.” He said in reply.
“I know who you are.” Ashley said quickly.
“Ok then.” Draco answered. That was mostly how the rest of the trip went, Ashley and Draco bickering in their own ways. Ashley snapping at Draco and Draco calmly reflecting her insults or accusations.
Towards the end of the ride Ashley turned to Charlie, “What about-“
“Not now.” Charlie cut her off, “We have to get dressed anyways. If you’ll excuse us Draco, we change in here.” Draco leaned back in his seat, hands behind his head.
“I don’t mind.” He said, actually smiling now.
“Well, we do.” Ashley quipped. Draco shrugged.
“Please?” Charlie almost begged.
“Yes’m.” Draco answered, his smile changing back to a smirk. “I’ll be in the next compartment if you need me.” He said as he got up and left.
“Hey.” Charlie said, before he opened the door. He turned his head back to look at her.
“Do you even know my name?” she asked.
“Charlotte, right?” Draco said, knowing it was right.
“Yeah. You can call me Charlie.” She said and grinned.
Charlie pulled the blinds down once Draco left and turned towards her trunk.
“So tell me what happened while we have privacy.” Ashley begged.
“My mother left. Forever. I’ve pretty much gotten over it by now.” Charlie said, she didn’t really want to talk about it anymore, even though she had been looking forward to this only a few hours before.
“A-are you sure?” Ashley said, slightly hurt. Charlie had never broken a talk session before.
“Yeah, I really don’t want to talk about it. Can we just change?” Charlie asked. Without waiting for an answer, she pulled her trunk down and took out her school robes.
“You like Draco?” Ashley said, more of statement then a question. Charlie didn’t answer for a moment, just stripped out of everything but her underclothes. She picked up her pleated school skirt and stepped into it, slightly stopping.
“Yes.” She said, smiling. Charlie continued dressing.
“What do you see in him anyways?” Ashley asked, also beginning to change. Charlie pulled on her sweater vest over her white button-up blouse. She rolled up the white cuffs of the sleeves.
“He’s cute. And he’s sweet.” Charlie answered, pulling on socks and starting on her shoes.
“He is not! Did you see him this whole train ride?!” Ashley asked, nearing hysterical.
“Yes, he was perfectly sweet.” Charlie said, buttoning up her black dress shoes. Ashley scoffed, but stopped commenting and instead just got dressed. When she was done, Charlie opened the blinds and went over into the next compartment.
“Well, don’t you look beautiful?” Draco said, smirking from his seat between two Slytherin girls, both in their year. Charlie blushed and the girls sitting next to Draco glared menacingly.
“You can come back if you want.” Charlie said, looking at the girls surrounding him.
“I’d love to.” Draco said, getting up and going back into the other compartment.
“Thankfully, we’re almost at Hogwarts.” Ashley said as the others came back inside.
