Thanks! And yes, they are funny. This post is somewhat short.......but I hope you like it! I might be able to post one more chapter in the morning, before I leave..........but I'm not sure. Chapter 31: The Dream
James and Lily stirred as Hannah began to cry, at 3 in the morning.
“Lily, it’s your turn.” James said simply.
Lily snorted. “Why has it been my turn the last 5 times?”
“Because you are the mother, and there’s not much I can do when babies are hungry.” James stated.
Lily laughed softly. “Good point!” she replied, as she rose out of bed.
Lily walked into the nursery, past Hallie’s crib. She was sleeping soundly.
“Why can’t my kids ever sleep?” Lily asked herself.
Hannah’s crib was next; and she was sniffling. Lily smiled down on her baby girl, as she picked her up. Almost immediately, Hannah began to calm.
“What’s the matter baby girl?” Lily asked, rocking her back and forth. She made her way over to the rocking chair, intending to rock Hannah to sleep; but instead, she jumped back in surprise.
Sirius was asleep on the chair, with Harry in his arms. Harry’s bright green eyes looked up at Lily.
“Momma,” Harry greeted, wide awake.
Lily laughed at the sight. She put Hannah back in her crib, and walked back over to the chair. She gently lifted Harry from Sirius’s grasp.
“Good Morning little man! How come you’re up so early?”
“Paddy woke me!” Harry said.
Lily giggled, put Harry in his crib, and covered him up. “Well, you go back to sleep, and mommy will wake you up for breakfast.”
“Breakfast!?!” Harry asked.
“Harry James Potter! You are just liked your father!” Lily smiled.
Harry beamed.
When Harry had fallen asleep, Lily walked back over to Sirius. “Sirius, wake up,” Lily cooed gently.
He didn’t wake.
Lily smirked. “Sirius! Hurry! Regulas is making out with Vi in the Slytherin common room!”
Sirius jumped up, eyes wide, and wand out. “I’ll kill him!” he growled. But then, he looked around and saw Lily.
She laughed. “Sorry about that Sirius.”
“That was cruel!” he exclaimed, sleepily.
“Well……….I couldn’t get you to wake up! What are you doing in here anyway?”
“Oh! Lily!” he exclaimed, realizing she was there. He jumped up and hugged her. “You’re all right!”
“Of course I am!” Lily said in surprise. “Why wouldn’t I be?”
“I had the most horrible dream. Only, it felt so real,” Sirius explained. “I was here; the house was destroyed.”
Tears started to form in Sirius’s eyes. “I walked into the kitchen, and………James…….he was………oh, Lily, it was horrible. And then I ran upstairs, calling your name…….and you…………..you were in the nursery……….you were dead. And I couldn’t see Harry.”
Sirius continued. “And so, I jumped out of bed, and went the nursery, and grabbed Harry to make sure he was all right.”
Sirius was still holding tightly to Lily; and she patted his back. “It’s all right, Sirius. It was only a dream.”
Sirius sighed, letting go. “Yes, it was just a dream.”
