Default Your Ex-Lover is Dead - Sa9+

One Shot based on the song "Your Ex-Lover is Dead" by Stars. This song is absolutely gorgeous, not really the beginning, but the middle and end. I felt obligated to write a one shot based on this. It is about Lily and James, and just follows the plot of the song. This is my first one shot, and i don't really know if it's good or bad...just tell me what you think!!

Your Ex-Lover is Dead

Flash back - 7th year

"Look, James. I'm so sorry, but this is not going to work out. We, are not going to work out." Lily Evans cried.

present - 5 years later

"James, I'd like you to meet a friend of mines."

In front of him, was the girl he had so many memories with, so many years ago. She looked the same, yet older, more mature, gorgeous. Introduced by a friend of a friend, they stood outside a classy London restaurant, both just having finished their Sunday brunch.

They glanced at each other, both having thoughts of their past. It was a regular August day for london. People were walking, cars we're buzzing, and pigeons were flying. But, there was something...off, the weather felt different, unstable.

After school ended, they went their separate ways. Living a new life, with different people. Both completely forgetting the other, but that was about to change.

He smiled and said "Yes, I think we've met before." and in that instant, it started to pour.

They captured a taxi, despite all the rain. Driving in silence around London. And the whole time, she thought he was sad, but in reality, he was just trying to remember her name...

The scar of their past relationship, was just a fleck on her porcelain skin.

He tried to reach deep five years ago, but he just couldn't get in. Now, he's out side of her, a mere stranger. He stared at all of her beauty, and felt the need to repent all of his sins.

In a relationship, it's nothing but time and your love that you lose. James chose to feel it, but Lily couldn't choose. But now, they were both a bit closer to real love...

When their relationship ended back in seventh year, neither of them looked back. And looking back now...was the hardest thing they ever could've imagined.

"Lily."James turned facing her, finally remembering her name.

"There's one thing I want to say so I'll be brave." He took her hands and held them.

"You were what I wanted, and I gave what I gave." He stared at her intensely. Lily got hot and sweaty, like this was the moment she was waiting for all her life.

"I'm not sorry I met you, and I'm not sorry it's over." He said waiting for her to talk.

But Lily couldn't...she didn't know what to say to something like that. After all the heart ache she gave him, he was still forgiving her? She regretted breaking up with him now more then ever. Seeing him again, here, brought all the feelings she had for him back.

When no words came from Lily, he continued. "And...I'm not sorry there's nothing to say..." he finished, letting go of her hands and looking down at the taxi's floor.

Plucking up her courage, she spoke. "James, do you still love me?" she asked, taking his chin in her hand.

She knew the answer she wanted to hear, but she was scared of what it would bring. Yet she still wanted to know, she needed to know if the second chance was there.

"I don't know...maybe." he answered unenthusiasticly, removing her hand and looking out at the rainy london.

"James look at me." Lily demanded, politely turning his head to face her.

"Love is not a maybe thing, you either love someone of you don't." She said, with lust in her eyes.

The taxi pulled to a hault in front of a regular london apartment complex.

"This is my stop." she opened the door and looked at him.

"It was nice seeing you again James." Lily nodded closing the door after her, walking away for the second time of what could've been real love.

"God that was strange to see her again..."
