Chapter 3, She Tells Him, Finally
I had successfully stayed in crowded areas so Harry couldn’t get me alone. I know it’s wrong to do that to him, but I don’t know how to explain this to him. Finally it was the day we were going back to Hogwarts. It was chaos here, like it always is when somebody forgot to pack this or wakes up too late. We finally boarded Platform 9 ¾ and since Ron and I were prefects, we had to go to the prefects place. We were told there that we had to patrol the train and I was assigned the end of the train. I walked almost to the end of the train when I grabbed into one of the compartments. “What the…” I started to say before I saw it was Harry.
“Harry, I have to patrol the train” I said to him. “You have been avoiding for the past three days. Your going to tell me about that kiss three days ago and your not going until you do” he said. What he said shocked me, he never did something like this before. “Ok if you have to know I…I love you dam*it!” I said in between tears.” You what?” he said with a look on his face the sadden me. “I love you” I whispered again. “We would have to figure out how to be together without Ron and Ginny being hurt” Harry said. I gave him a confused look. “I love you too Hermione, that’s why I wanted to know why you were avoiding me” he said and he cupped my face in his hands. “We’ll figure out how” he said and our lips touched.
We kept kissing until we heard a voice behind us say “Get a room Potter!” we turned and saw none other than Draco Malfoy. “Oh what happened to the Weasleys? Cheating are you? Didn’t know you two had it in you” he smirked. “Malfoy! Get out!” we yelled at him. “Ok, I’ll just go tell them you’re cheating on them” he said and started walking away. Harry and I looked at each other and both said “Wait!” and he came back over. “Please Malfoy, don’t be a git! Just don’t tell them” I told him. “Fine, I’ll keep your dirty little secret, if you don’t tell anybody that I was nice to a Mudblood” he said and walked back to his assigned part of the train.
“That was a close one” I said to him. “I’ll see you later” he said and we both whispered “I love you” before their last kiss. I went back to patrolling with a big smile on my face because I did have everything I wanted. But we still had to figure out how to tell Ron and Ginny without breaking their hearts. |
