Thanks everyone! This chapter is so long, that there are going to be at least three parts. Here is the second one.


Chapter 21 (part two): Babies! Babies Everywhere!


Sirius and James leaped up and pulled Remus into a hug.

“Hey! Is Lily all right?” he asked.

“We’re not sure,” Sirius replied. “Wait! How did you know about Lily? And why are you home early? You were supposed to be gone for a few more weeks!”

“Dumbledore sent for me,” Remus said, “About 10 minutes ago. He said I had completed enough of my mission, and that Lily was in the hospital; so naturally, I immediately apparated over here.”

“Oh, ok,” Sirius said, a little suspicious. “But this just happened. How did Dumbledore know?”

“I dunno, Padfoot! It’s Dumbledore for crying out loud! How am I supposed to know where he gets his information?” Remus then turned to Camey and hugged her. “I missed you!” he whispered.

“I missed you too!” she said kissing him.

Ending the kiss, Remus asked, “What were you not going to tell me?”

“What are you talking about?” Camey asked.

“When I came in, I heard you say ‘Yes, and Remus would be so disappointed if he heard! So please don’t tell him, when he gets back!’ So, what were you not going to tell me?”

Dismay rapidly spread across Camey’s face. “Um…..” she stuttered, looking to the others for help.

Vi spoke up. “It’s nothing Remus, never mind.”

He looked at her questioningly. “No, I want to know; someone tell me.”

Camey buried her head into his jacket. “Remus, you’re going to need to sit down,” she said sobbing.

Remus nodded and sat on the couch. She sat beside him, and he gently held her hand. “Honey, it can’t be that bad,” he cooed.

“It is,” she cried. “Well………you see………… I was two months pregnant but-”

“Oh my god! You’re pregnant!” Remus shouted in delight.

Camey silently shook her head. “Not anymore.”

“Oh,” Remus said softly.

“See, when Voldemort captured Lily we-”

Again Remus cut her off. “What! Lily was captured by Voldemort? Is that why she’s here?”

“No,” James answered. “That was about a week ago. We’re not sure of what happened today.”

After a pause, Camey continued. “When Lily was captured, we were all sent out to look for her. I was with Benjy Fedwick, and we came across some death eaters………. Benjy was killed……… I was hit with a spell…….. and took a nasty fall……. the next thing I remember is waking up here……….. a healer told me that, he was sorry, but there was nothing they could do…………… I lost the baby.”

Remus held Camey for a while; both silently crying.

Harry and Hallie were happily playing on the floor, of the waiting room. They looked at Remus and Camey crying, and looked back at each other. They formed a plan through their eyes.

Hallie picked up two rag dolls and waddled over to Camey. “Auntie Camey?” Hallie asked sweetly.

Vi interrupted, “Not now, Sweet-ums.”

“No, it’s ok,” Camey said, picking Hallie up. “Yes Hallie?”

“Play?” she asked; handing Camey her favorite rag doll.

Camey smiled a watery smile. “Sure, baby doll,” she said.

Harry walked up to Lupin, and pulled on his leg. “Lu-lu!”

Remus chuckled. “Yes Harry?”

“Story?”

“Sure, what about?” he asked.

Harry struggled to say it. “Ma…….mara………ders………maradrs.”

“Oh, the marauders!” The adults chuckled.

“How about the time, we all became Animagi?” Remus suggested in a whisper.

“No!” Harry said.

“How about the time your Daddy made a fool of himself, in front of Mommy?” Remus asked Harry.

“Hey!” James yelled, jokingly.

“Not again!” Hallie moaned.

“Ok……… how about…….. when Padfoot and Prongs got in trouble?”

“Which one?” Hallie asked,

“The one about Honeydukes?” Harry pleaded.

“Sure!” Remus agreed. He began the story. “When we were 13, Padfoot and Prongs discovered a secret passage into Honeydukes.”

Hallie squealed in delight.

Remus continued, “The snuck in, in the middle of the night; to try to steal some candy.”

“Where were you, Lu-Lu?” Harry asked.

“I was a good boy, and stayed in my dorm,” Remus answered.

“That’s not what Daddy said,” Harry and Hallie said in unison.

“Oh really?” Remus asked, with one eyebrow cocked. “What did they say?”

“They said you were too much of a chicken to go in, so you stayed in the tunnel!” Harry said.

“Well, Harry and Hallie, your daddies are idiots.”

As James and Sirius shouted “HEY!”, Hallie and Harry said, “We know.”

Remus finished the story, telling Harry and Hallie how Prongs and Padfoot got caught.

“Did they get punished?” the toddlers asked.

A young woman in healers’ robes said, “If I remember correctly, they had to scrape frogs’ brains off the ceiling in the dungeon, for three whole weeks!”

“Ewww” and “Gross” came from Harry and Hallie.

Sirius raced over to the women and pulled her into a bone-crushing hug. “Hey! How are you? How’s Ted?”

“We’re fine, Sirius! Now let go! You are crushing my ribs!”

“Hey Andi!” Remus, Vi, and Camey said; also hugging her.

James, joining in on the hug said, “Hey, Andromeda!”

“Honestly James, why do you insist on calling me Andromeda?” she asked.

“Because, you’re old!”

“I’m only six years older than you!” she protested, pouting.

At that moment, a 9 year old girl, with purple hair, came running around the corner; seeing Sirius, she jumped on top of him.

“Cousin Sirius!” she shouted.

“Hey Tonks!” he laughed. “Did you miss me?”

“Yes! I haven’t seen you for a whole year!” she whined, still on top of him.

“Yes Sirius, this little girl adores you. Everyday she asks, ‘when are we gonna get to see cousin Sirius?’ I don’t understand why!” Andi said smirking. She pulled Tonks off Sirius and allowed him to get up. “It’s good to see you. When did you get back from Africa?”

“A few months ago,” he replied. “Sorry I haven’t come to see you yet, but things have been hectic.”

“Really?” she asked. “What has made your life so busy that you couldn’t stop to see me?”

“Well,” Sirius said, taking Hallie from Remus. “This is my daughter Hallie.”

“Oh Sirius! She’s beautiful! When did you get married?” she asked, looking at Vi.

“Oh, we’re not married!” Vi said.

Andi looked at him and laughed. “I should’ve guessed.”

“Hey!” he said, “Bella isn’t married either!”

“Whoa! Bella’s having a baby?” Andi asked.

“Didn’t you know that?” Sirius replied. “She is your sister!”

“I haven’t talked to either of them since they joined the death eaters....... the stupid prats!” Andi said, “It was extremely hard to avoid them when Cissy had her baby.”

“Narcissa had a baby?” James asked in shock.

“Yep!” Andi replied, “He was born about two months before Harry; his name is Draco.”

“What kind of a name is Draco Malfoy?” Sirius asked laughing.

“I dunno, but I bet he’s a Slytherin.”

“Well, duh! The whole lot of the Blacks are in Slytherin!” Sirius said. “Except us! Andi, you are I are misfits!”

“We’re the white sheep of the Black family!” she said laughing.

As the adults continued to talk, Tonks had her eyes on Remus. “Boy, he’s hot!” she said loudly.

The adults started laughing. When Tonks looked at Sirius questioningly, he said, “Tonks, you said that out loud.”

She clapped her hand to her mouth. She looked at Sirius. “I did?” she mumbled.

Camey stopped laughing. “He is pretty cute, isn’t he Tonks?”

“Yeah,” Violet agreed. “Tonks you’re right……. Remus is very hot. But unfortunately, he and Camey are getting married.”

“Um, do you mind if I go play with Harry and Hallie?” Tonks asked, looking at her shoes.

“Sure,” Sirius said, trying not to laugh; for Tonks’s sake. “Get to know your little cousin.”

When she walked away, Sirius and James turned to Remus. “Yeah, Remmy! You are downright sexy!”
