(Variety) Visual effects supervisor Guy Hudson died Dec. 24 of a brain hemorrhage in London. He was 45.
Hudson worked on special effects for features including "Alien," "The Empire Strikes Back," "Jurassic Park," and the "Dinotopia" miniseries. Originally from England, he moved to Northern California in 1987 to work for Chris Walas Inc., and went on to work for Disney, Henson, Industrial Light & Magic and Western Images.
He returned to London in 2002 to be closer to his family, and worked with the Framestore. At the time of his death he was working on "Harry Potter (news - web sites) and the Prisoner of Azkaban."
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, two sisters, a nephew and four nieces.
