Max sighed and shook his head slightly. "Go ahead and tell her what you want but it may do more harm than good," he replied solemnly, "for the both of you." He straightened up and folded his arms across his chest. "You need to trust me on this particular matter if you truly care about her."
Kay turned around and noticed Elijah was having a serious conversation with the shopkeeper. What are the two of them talking about? she thought as she watched them and noted that the shopkeeper was no longer smiling.
"Elijah? I think I know which broomstick I want," she said brightly as she motioned to the new Nimbus model. "Why don't you come over and take a look at it?"
