Hello everyone, I'm Katie. This is my first fanfic, so I hope you like it. The main characters in this story are Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, Prongs, and Lily (who, of course, belong to the fabulous J.K Rowling). With a few special appearances by the flowers (Lily's friends... I made them up ).

This story takes place between the time Harry is born, until the night James and Lily are murdered; so this begins when Lily and James are about 19 or 20 years old. Please post if you have any comment or suggestions for me.

Chapter 1: The Marauders

Lily Potter wobbled to the door when she heard the doorbell ring. It was late July, she was 8 1/2 months pregnant, and the baby was due at anytime. Lily opened the door and hugged the man standing in the doorway.

"Sirius!!!!! How are you? We've missed you!!!!! That mission for the order took months longer than it was supposed to!!!! James will be delighted to see you!" Lily exclaimed as she pulled him inside.

"Lils, I'm fine," Sirius replied, trying to calm her down. “But look at you... You have really let yourself go!!!"

Lily slapped his arm playfully, and pretended to be furious, "Sirius Black, how dare you say that to a pregnant women?!"

"Lily calm down!" Sirius insisted," I was only joking!"

"Whatever," Lily said as she rolled her eyes, jokingly. "James," she called from the base of the stairs, "James! Come down here!"

James ran down the stairs with a panicked look on his face. "Are you ok? Is it time?" James asked.

"No," Lily said," But I thought-"

James cut her off, very quickly. "Then why did you call me down here Lily?" asked James, trying to keep the annoyance out of his voice, "I told you that Moony is in a very difficult stage of his transformation, and that I should be with him at all times."

"Fine," Lily replied cooly, "I just thought that you'd like to know Sirius is here."

"Hi-ya Prongs!" said Sirius with a wide smile, as he stepped into the kitchen.

"Oi! Padfoot! How are you?" James asked as he pulled Sirius into a hug. "Come, sit down, you must be exhausted."

"So much for 'needing to be with Remus at all times'," Lily mumbled, inaudibly.

"Hey Lily, do you think you could make us some coffee?" asked James.

"Honestly James!" Lily said sarcastically, "You care more about Sirius's comfort than mine. You'd think he was the one carrying your baby!"

"Sorry Lily," Sirius replied, after a quick wink to James. "We didn't want you to find out this way but-"

"Oh, shut up, Padfoot!" Lily exclaimed while James started to chuckle. Turning to James she said, "Remind me.... Why did I marry you?"

"Because," answered James, "You find me funny, witty, and extraordinarily handsome."

Lily snorted in reply.

Just then a very familiar werewolf trotted into the kitchen. "Remus look who's here!" Lily exclaimed when Moony pushed open the kitchen door. Moony howled with glee when he saw Sirius.

Moony began nudging Sirius’s hand with his nose. "Am I right in assuming that he is taking the Wolfsbane potion?" asked Sirius.

"Yes," Lily replied, “I’ve been making it for him."

"That's wicked Lily! You always were the best at potions!" Sirius said and Lily glowed with pride.

"Yeah," James replied, "Partly because Slughorn favored her." Lily scowled at her husband.

"Yeah, but James," Sirius replied, "I'm pretty sure that Slughorn favored her because she was a natural at potions."

"Whatever," James mumbled.

"Oh, he's just sore because he only got an E in his potion's NEWT; when I got an O!" Lily smirked, brining up an old joke that Sirius fondly remembered.

Fortunately, James didn't hear that comment or there would have been a major squabble.

Lily turned to Remus, and he whimpered. "James, Sirius, why don't you transform?" Lily suggested. "I don't think it's fair that Moony has to sit on the floor by himself."

The guys nodded in agreement and transformed; James into a handsome stag and Sirius into an enormous black dog.

"Cheeseburgers for dinner, right?" Lily asked.

Moony howled, Padfoot barked, and Prongs pounded his hooves, in agreement. So, Lily made them each had about ten cheeseburgers, which they ate ravenously.

After dinner, Moony had fallen asleep on the floor, and James and Sirius were human again. Looking at the lunar charts, James realized that the full moon ended that night; which meant that at sunrise Moony would transform back into a human. Lily rushed around the house retrieving every thing he would need to transform.

Then James insisted that she waited upstairs. Although Lily felt this was highly unnecessary, she did not argue. James’s request was actually quite practical; even under the effects of the potion, there were times when Moony could get out of control. James didn't want to take any chances, because someone might get bitten. So, Lily waited upstairs for about an hour. Finally, the howls of pain had stopped, and James called, "Lils you can come down now."

Lily raced down stairs and announced, to the room full of guys, "Good because it's time!"
