| The Adopted Malfoy - Sa9+
Hello! This is my very first FF, so I hope you like it. It's about a new charictor, but it still involves the HP charictors.
Chapter one:
“Well, this is awkward!” That was all Ellie could think, as she watched everyone else poor onto the train, with parents, brothers, and sister there, wishing them a good year at Hogwarts. Hogwarts. She had thought so much about that place since she had heard she would be going there. At first, she flat out refused. Then, she thought more about it. Ellie was from the United States, witch also made it a little strange. Everyone else was from England, or around that area. It was a long story, hers. But she couldn’t help thinking back to the beginning.
~Flash back~
“But mom! All my friends go to the Academy of Magical Arts! Here! In America! Why do I have to go all the way to England? It’s so stupid!” Her mother sighed, as she explained it all to Ellie, again.
“Honey, I already told you why! The Academy of Magical Arts, it just isn’t the right school for you! You are a much to powerful witch for that place, Hogwarts is the right school, that will quench your thirst for knowledge!”
“Quench my thirst? For knowledge? Whatever! But mom! That’s like, ages away! And it will be like boarding school or something!”
“Well too bad! You're going!”
“But it’s just stupid to transfer schools in your 6th year! Especially when the new school is in another country!”
“I am not going to argue with you anymore! We are getting your school things tomorrow, and in a week you will be going to Hogwarts. End of story!” Ellie slouched grudgingly to her room. A week later, she was getting off a plane (she hated Port keys, and floo Powder), and getting a cab, which drove her to Kings Cross, with all her things. She sat in the cab, stroking Leo, her new pet kitten. It had been a gift, kind of, or more of a bribe, for going to Hogwarts. Leo purred and nestled down for a nap. They soon reached the station, and Ellie got out of the cab, pulling all her stuff out with her, and tucking Leo into her bag.
She soon made it through the barrier without any problems, into her new life.
~End of Flash back~
And this was where she was now. Looking up at the large, red, train engine.
“Here we go!” She whispered, and made her way onto the train. She found an empty room, and settled herself in, pulling Leo out of the bag, and setting her onto the seat. She soon heard a commotion outside her compartment.
“Ron! Stop pushing the first years! You need to be nice!” a girls voice said, followed by a low grumble, that must have belonged to this, Ron.
“Hermione, take your cat! I think he’s going crazy!” said another boy’s voice.
“No he isn’t, you just don’t know how to act with cats, Harry!” Said the girls voice again, this was apparently Hermione. Then there was another girl’s voice.
“Ok, move along! I am trying to find a seat!”
“Sorry.” Grumbled the first boy, Ron. Suddenly, as Ellie was trying to extract some parchment and a quill from her trunk, the door slid open. Four people entered, as Ellie slipped, and went flying, parchment and ink going everywhere.
“Oh! Let me help you!” Said a girl with long, red hair. She looked to be about Ellie’s age. The girl bent down, and started helping Ellie pick up papers, as another girl, with bushy brown hair, took out her wand and started cleaning up the ink spills.
“Thanks.” Ellie mumbled as the red headed girl handed her some paper, and the brown haired girl handed her what was left in the inkbottle.
“Hey, are you new? I don’t remember seeing you here last year.”
“Oh, yeah, um, yeah.”
“So, where are you from, anyway?” The brown haired girl asked.”
“Oh, um, I’m from Minnesota, you know, United States?”
“Really? That’s cool. I’m from here. And, not to be rude, or anything, but how come you decided to come here?” Asked the red haired girl.
“Oh, well, I used to go to the Academy of Magical Arts, but, my mom said that it wasn’t really the best school for my talents, and that this school was the one that would get me where I need to go. She said it’s the best school there is! Oh, and by the way, my name is Ellie Travis. I’m going to be in 6th year, what about you?” She said, getting bolder as she went, she decided she liked these two. The brown haired girl stepped forward.
“Hermione Granger. I am going to be a 7th year. My last year!” she said, with a fake sob.
The second girl then said, "I am Ginny Weasley. And guess what? I’m a 6th year too! So we’ll be in the same year! I hope you’re in Gryffindor, that’s our house. You should meet the boys too!” She said excitedly, and jumped off the train, to find her mother, who was still saying goodbye’s to everyone within reach. Ellie sat down, and fidgeted as she looked around.
“Nervous?” asked Hermione kindly. Ellie just nodded.
“Well, it’s natural! But you’ll fit in great! Trust me!” Ellie nodded again.
“Here they are!” An exited Ginny exclaimed from the door. Ellie’s head jerked up, and she found herself looking at to boys, standing behind Ginny. One, extremely tall with red hair, like Ginny’s, and a boy with black hair, green eyes, and glasses. Ginny nudged the red haired boy, and whispered
“Come on! Introduce yourself!”
“All right! I’m going!” he whispered back.
“Hey, I’m Ron Weasley.” He said.
“Really? Are you two, like, sister and brother, or something?”
“’Course they are! And I’m Harry Potter.” He held out his hand, and Ellie shook it. Ginny looked pleased with the introductions.
“Ron and Harry, this is Ellie Travis, she’s new this year, if you didn’t guess that yet, and she is from Minnesota.”
“Minnesota?” Ron questioned.
“Oh Ron!” Hermione sighed. “In the U.S.A? Ring a bell?”
“Oh, yeah!” he said, as he remembered. “That explains it!” Harry laughed.
“Explains what?” Ellie asked, shyly.
“The long O’s. Someone told me that Minnesotans have a weird ascent, something to do with o’s.”
“I do not!” Ellie exclaimed! She was already feeling at home with them.
The rest of the train ride was one of the most fun times Ellie had ever had. Hermione, Ginny, Harry, and Ron, told her about Hogwarts. The teachers, classes, dorms, and everything. Other classmates would filter in and out of the compartment, and Ellie liked all of them, especially the boy named Neville. He did seem very forgetful (He had told them of how he had somehow lost half his stuff already on the train) but very kind. They were all enjoying chocolate frogs, and cauldron cakes, when the door slid open again. Ellie looked up, expecting to see a new, happy face, but saw the very opposite. The face she saw was cold, and pointed, with strikingly white-blond hair. Even though he didn’t really look like the nicest person, Ellie decided to still be polite.
“Hello! I’m Ellie Travis, and I just transferred from Academy of Magical arts, I’m gunna be a 6th year! Who are you?” The boy stood there, totally neglecting her outstretched hand, and just started at her eyes. Ellie felt rather uncomfortable with it, even though she had had that problem before. Her eyes were purple, and you didn’t see that very often. The boy just stared in silence for only a few seconds, then a jerked back to reality.
“Well,” He sneered, or at least tried to, he did seem rather shaken. “That’s just, yeah.” And with that, he stormed out of the compartment. Ellie stood for another moment, hand still outstretched for a handshake, then sat back down.
“Er, who was that?” She asked quietly. Ginny just shook her head,
“Don’t pay any attention to him. That’s Draco Malfoy. He’s a Slytherin, you don’t want to be mixing with him.”
“Trust me, he’s an evil git, that’s all, so just ignore him.” Put in Ron “We’ve, kind off had differences since day one.”
At this Harry laughed, “What he means is, we hate each other, we are mortal enemies!”
“Oh.” Ellie mumbled.
“But it was weird. He didn’t even try and make fun of us, or anything.” Hermione said. “He usually bursts in, and with his cronies, Crabbe and Goyle. But they disappeared! Can’t say that’s a bummer though.” And they continued on, as if Malfoy had never come in.
~Draco Malfoy~
Draco Malfoy stood out in the hall. He was strangely cold, yet sweat was pouring off his forehead. He raised a shaking hand and whipped it away. Those eyes, were had he seen those eyes?! He recognized them from something, but what? He knew he had seen them, and you usually remember purple eyes, they don’t come by to often, but then, he seemed to know her, recognize her. With that strawberry blond hair, oval glasses, and her laugh that was now coming from the room. It was all so familiar. But were from. He sat shaking for another moment, until a second year accidentally ran into him, as the train shook, and he regained his composure.
“Move along!” he growled, and shoved the second year into the wall, as he marched down the other way.xxx
I hope you like it!
