ooc: For those of you who haven't seen my post in my office:

Oftentimes a professor has to step away from their computer (this happens often to those of us with young children). Just because we aren't online doesn't mean that our characters have left or isn't paying attention to what the students are saying. You just have to be patient and wait for the next post. Don't assume the professor left or that he won't notice people talking or causing mischief just because you don't happen to see my name on the bottom of the screen or it takes me a while to post. It takes me even longer when I have to read through 3 pages of posts to catch up.

So, lesson #1: There is a difference between IC and OOC and you should respect that not everyone is on the same time as you or that they might have to step away from their computer. This has no bearing on what their characters are doing or what they will or will not notice. This is common RP courtesy. Thanks.

Lesson #2: Please read my class rules on the "Bulletin Board". They clearly state not to mention arriving late to class. Just pretend you've been here the whole time. (They also mention the bit about being patient).

Professor Branxton listened to the excellent answers provided by the class. "Very good, those who provided answers will be awarded house points. Those who were talking in class will be docked house points, 1 point for the first offence, 2 points for the second offence, etcetera. Those who were late to class will be docked 5 points. I will not tolerate tardiness nor talking in my classroom," he said, looking around the room while he paced at the front, cleaning his glasses.

He placed his glasses back on his nose and waved his wand at the chalkboard. The correct answers that were spoken appeared on the board.

"In addition to the skills mentioned, one must also be a witch or wizard because without magic, your potion will be nothing but soup," Professor Branxton added. "What are some things you should keep in mind while brewing potions?"
