She's not flying down on a broomstick, but the visit of J K Rowling _ the author of the Harry Potter series who cast a spell on us with crystal balls and witchcraft - to Kerala, India, next March has already kicked up enough speculation in the State.
Though nothing has yet been confirmed about the visit of the high-profile writer, readers as well as representatives of the publishing and hospitality sectors are eagerly waiting for the big moment.
Speculation abounds on the places she is likely to visit, the book readings and her holidaying. For the author, whose latest book 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix' was released in June amidst unprecedented publicity and hype, there will not be any dearth of fans in Kerala.
Publishing DC Books has already gone ahead with discussions ``We are yet to finalise anything. The talks are still continuing,'' says Ravi DC.
Rated to be richer than Britain's Queen Elizabeth and famous than all the authors combined, J K Rowling is going to be a hot favourite for the hoteliers in the State who are fighting this golden chance.
Both the Taj Group of Hotels and Hotel Le Meridien will be in the race to host the celebrity author. ``We have alerted the main office and are awaiting a reply,'' says a Taj official in Kochi. Le Meridien representatives say they will not lose the chance to play host to J K Rowling.
There is sure to be a long line of young and old fans at her book readings as she has captured their minds with the magic of her books including her latest release which created a record of 13 million copies being published and distributed around the world.
