Chapter 6
Seconds felt like hours to them. The Gala was suppose to last all night so no one would suspect anything about there absence. Alone in the room they sat quietly. Harry still holding the coin and the young woman sitting quietly beside him.
"I’m sorry." Harry said softly.
"I am too." said the young woman.
"You know..." Harry said with a silly grin on his face. "That day in the café. I was trying to hold your hand. But those silly cherubs throwing confetti and the other couples made my feel uneasy and more nervous."
The woman smiled at Harry and turned her face toward him. " I know I overacted that day and about the whole thing with Marietta. I knew I should have understand your place in the matter"
The rain grew heavier and the moon glowed brighter. Harry slowly grabbed the woman’s hand and placed the coin in her palm. He cupped his fingers around hers and they sat not uttering any words but absorbed in the moment. Until the woman broke the silence.
"I need to tell you something..." she said. Although it was obvious that she didn’t want to tell him another word but Harry interrupted her before she can continue.
"Irregardless of what your about to tell me. Because I have a feeling I know it will be difficult for me to hear. Just remember, That I will keep you dear in my heart as I hope you will too. What ever your about to tell me just remember I will be on what ever side you wish me to be on. In the morning when you wake just call upon me and I’ll be there. In the light..." But as soon as he was about to finish she kissed him. A tear fell down both their eyes and the woman smiled.
"No matter where you are Mr. Potter you will be in my heart." she said gazing into his eyes. "And whomever you decide to marry I will be happy and you’ll forever be in my heart. On every corner of it. The morning light is all I need to remember you my dear harry."
Harry smiled yet in his eyes it was obvious that he had a bit of sorrow still haunting him. But still with all his strength he threw himself up without the assistance of his cane. He held the young woman close.
"Whomever I end up with, will never take the place of you in my heart. And wherever I am, I will think of you. Even if I long for you I will now be happy even if I can’t have you." as he whispered this into her ear the door flew open and standing there was Ginny, Ron, Hermione with her hands hold her back supporting the weight of her stomach, Luna holding Neville closely and big group of people with camera’s.
"We’ve been looking for you two all night!" said Hermione excitedly.
"Come on Harry, people have been asking around for you. The reunion ends tomorrow evening and we have a lot of people to catch up with." exclaimed Ron.
Harry smiled. He reached into his coat and grabbed his wand and said "I’ll be there in a moment." and then with a flick of his wrist the doors of the hospital wing shut.
"In the mornings... I’ll be there, if not in person then in spirit." Harry said to the young woman.
"In every corner of my heart where there is room... I will reserve them for you..." said the woman softly. the held each other firmly as if it were the last they would see each other. They released one another and walk towards the door. As soon as they reached it the door flew open and the Schools healer was behind it.
"We’ll I never!!!" said the woman who was wet and trying to catch her breath.
"What happened?" asked Harry and the young woman in unison.
The Healer trying still to catch her breath tried to explain. "Well a woman said that a someone in the east tower fell down the stairs and landed on a shrinking potion that he had in his pocket and was stuck between a crack in the steps and I had to find him but then I realized I was out of
anti-shrink potion which I could had sworn I had just bought and then I had to go out in the rain until the same woman stopped me and said he was found and that a healer from St. Mungo’s had fixed him. So now I’m back. Are you the healer?"
Harry and the young woman looked at each other and laughed.
"What’s so funny!!" exclaimed the old healer.
"Nothing ma’am, I’m the healer and this is the poor chap who I had to re-grow" said the young woman trying hard to refrain from bursting into laughter. And so they left.
Chapter 7
The night went, on slowly people left to go to sleep in order to have enough energy for tomorrow’s events. People filled the hallways heading to assigned corridors. The married couple we’re assigned separate rooms in order to maintain their privacy while others head to their old dwellings. Some of the attendee’s stayed up the whole night talking about memories of the school while the rest slept comfortably. The young woman and Harry sat with Ron and Hermione and Ginny in the Gryffindor common room with many others. They we’re laughing at Neville who was sleeping curled next to the fireplace. The young woman felt tired and told Harry she was going to bed as soon as she stood up Luna whom was up interviewing attendee’s walked in.
"May I walk you?" she asked the young woman. The woman nodded and they went.
"Why did you do this" asked the young woman the instant the left the common room. As they continued walking Luna smiled and turned to her.
"You know very well why I did." she said in a sinister tone. They had reached the corridor leading to the young woman’s sleeping quarters and the young woman bid Luna a good night.
"Wether you feelings are mutual or not as long as there are feelings... they need to be shared." Luna said as she walked away. The woman closed the door and went straight to bed.
The next morning the woman arose and found a messenger owl perched out her window. She opened the window and read a letter attached to it’s leg. As soon as she read the letter the leaped out of her bed and changed. She ran to the great Hall where she saw many people eating breakfast. She ran to her table and saw her old friend Marietta. The note held in her hand she had to tell her old friends the Great news.
"Marietta I did it!!" the woman cried in excitement.
"Did what!" Marietta said in anticipation.
"The Ministry made me the Director of Healers. They want me to go to the Ministry to sign the papers and make it official!" said the woman. Everyone at the table cheered and those who were closest to her hugged her. News of this spread through Hogwarts fast and people as they passed the young woman congratulated her on her achievement. Getting ready to leave, she wanted to say goodbye to Harry and tell him of her promotion. She looked and looked but could not find him. She found Ron and Hermione and Ginny in the Great Hall but no sign of Harry.
"Where’s Harry?" asked the young woman
"Haven’t you heard?" asked Hermione. She motioned the woman to sit down and so the young woman sat beside Ginny as Hermione continued. "When you went to bed last night the Ministry alerted him to go on an important mission in Russia. He left soon after receiving the message."
The woman held back her tears and thanked Hermione for telling her the news. The young women told them of her promotion and they all congratulated her and soon she left.
"It’s for the best..." she thought to herself as she waited for the carriage to take her to the train station. She thought of the night in the hospital wing and remembered their promise to each other. She reached in her pocket and pulled the coin out and held it firmly in her hand. Soon a hand tapped her shoulder and handed her a note.
"He gave me this right after I left you" said Luna with Neville at her side.
She opened the note as fast as she could and read it..
"No matter who I’m with, I am yours, remember the Love of Your Life may not be with you the rest of your life... but still... they are yours for eternity. I’ll be here in the sunlight and in the glow of the moon my dearest. Forever and a Day, Harry Potter"
She held the note close as the carriage to the station arrived for her. She hugged Neville
good bye and thanked him for the company and he smiled. Shee turned to Luna and hugged her firmly.
"Thank you...for everything" she whispered in her ear.
"Your welcome my dear... most importantly your hearts are mended and the both of you ... especially you can move on." said Luna softly.
"Good bye." the woman said as she stepped into the carriage.
"Good bye Cho." said Luna as the carriage went away. Waving as the carriage went into the distance. Luna took Neville by the hand as they walked into the castle. They turned and gazed outward to look at the sunlight beaming upon the front of the castle.
"Was that Cho Chang?" asked Neville dumbfounded as usual.
"Yes dear... Cho Corner to be exact." replied Luna
"As in Michael Corner? But she told me she wasn’t married!" Neville exclaimed.
"She isn’t..." Luna said softly. "...She’s Michaels widow."
