This poem doesn’t follow a specific rhyming scheme, but is under the free verse genre. I’ve described some of James’ possible thoughts that he may have struggled with late at night. James Potter’s Thoughts about Lily Evans
Sometimes I wish you could see
The real James Potter
The one beneath the act
The one beneath the pride
The one beneath the arrogance
Sometimes I wish you could realize
The real me, aside from my appearances
How much I want to reach you
How much I care about you
How much I long to get to know you
Sometimes I wish you could grasp
That we do have a chance together
No matter how different
No matter how opinionated
No matter how harsh
We may seem
Sometimes I wish you could love
And not only be frustrated with
A boy longing for love
A seeker searching for more to life
A person like me.
