Jaren's eyes were tearing from both the pain that was involved and what felt like he'd gone and rolled his eyeballs around in the sand--apparently someone hadn't exactly kept the Great Hall's floor clean of bits of dirt. Still, half-blinded by tears, he managed to slip his shoe back on before wiping his eyes off the sleeve of his shirt.
