As Singh tried to distract both him and Lamberto, Leontius continued pressing forward. He wouldn't let himself be put off by the opposing chaser, especially not when his team wasn't in possession. He kept close to Misra, pulling in front when he tossed the ball as he saw Lamberto going in for the intercept.
Which he managed to succeed. Leon was very pleased to see England back in possession, and spun in mid air to head back to the hoops. Keeping a keen eye out for the bludgers, he quickly caught up in time to see the hit Lamberto took and the toss that Renee caught. Although he sympathised for his teammate, he knew that Lamberto would recover quickly - he'd taken worse hits in the past, Leon was sure. So he kept pace, pulling up slightly ahead of Renee and readying himself in case she decided to pass to him.

The English chasers were so good there was barely anything for Pete to do. That may be a bit of an exaggeration, he’d had to save a few goals from the Indian chasers so far, but the quaffle hadn’t headed his way in a while now. He watched his teammates pass it back and forth after intercepting a pass, and head toward the other end of the pitch. He was focused and ready, of course, because this was the World Cup and things could change at a moment’s notice. He was also watching out for the bludgers, which was fortunate because there seemed to be one heading straight for him. Pete angled his broom down and dived out of the way of the bludger. Once he was safely out of danger he continued circling the goal posts, keeping an eye out for any more.

| The quaffle was in England's Possession and for the first time in the match it seemed like the players were having an easy time getting it down the field. Though a bludger seemed to make sure it wasn't to easy, but the England team kept possession and were getting closer to the hoops.
Geffrard moved himself back up high above the rest to watch everything. He was still grumpy from the stop of the match, the stop really was starting to seem like it made everyone a little less excited and that wasn't what a World Cup should be, but still the chasers were looking great from both teams. He was amazed at the play they did even with injuries. The bludgers were acting as normal as could be and for bludgers that meant trying to hit everything that was in their path. One even came close to hitting a poor stray bird that had flown to close to the pitch, thankfully the bird was able to move before it ended up a bludger pancake.
For Merlin's sake what was a bird now doing near the pitch Geffrard shook his head and decided he was earning his pay today as he made sure it got away before anything else could happen. Now, where was the seekers? A bludger, a quaffle, a bird? No, it wasn't any of those, but something was fluttering around close to the ground in the middle of the pitch.

Shoot! Was Pavel’s silent sentiment too as he had missed hitting the bludger away that had gone straight for Lamberto’s broom and connected. Grimacing he watched his teammate go down from the broom hit, wondering if he should fly to his aid. Luckily no aid was needed since it didn’t take too long however before Lamberto flew up and after the quaffle again. Gripping his broom tightly Pavel flew after the bludger that had hit Lamberto. When he finally caught up with it Pavel wacked it hard with his bat in the direction of Malviya.
The second bludger that Pete had doged successfully was minutes after almost hitting a stray bird in the head that had found it’s way onto the pitch somehow. Shaking his head and not being able to not smile at the scene with the bird Pavel flew across the pitch with his bat ready. With Geffard leading the bird off the pitch he had an open field to the bludger. As he came closer to it Pavel gave the bludger a solid hit with his bat and sent it flying in the direction of Singh.

Oh, good! Renee's two fellow Chasers had quickly caught up to her, flanking her on both sides -- the perfect position to hopefully stop any Indian interference. She made it about three-quarters of the way down the pitch before locking eyes with the nearest one and surreptitiously passing the Quaffle, always trying not to attract too much attention... Or to be so fast that attracting attention wouldn't matter.
With a swish of her hair and a bright smile, she watched the Quaffle sail through the air, hopefully to be caught by her teammate.

Lamberto gave her and Leontius a nod as they were in close range of him. He felt some sense of relief when Pavel was near too, doing a great job with the bludgers.
The Englishman licked his lips in anticipation and concentration as Renee sent the Quaffle in the air. Not waiting a single second, Lamberto zoomed in and scooped the Quaffle under his arm and gave her a nod once more with a grin. Closing in on the goal posts he kept changing sides, a technique to hopefully confuse India's keeper. Closing in and giving the illusion he was going to aim right. He took a shot sending the Quaffle the direction of the left ring!

Priya did not know where her chasers were, or her beaters, but when it came down to an opponent throwing the quaffle at her hoops she didn't need anyone. There was a bludger coming from her left and Urupi was trying to confuse her with his throws, but she was focused and wouldn't be tricked. The English will not score again, not if she has anything to say about it.
In the end the bludger helped her, as leaned hard in one direction to avoid it and in the same motion, go towards the quaffle to defend her hoops. If there would be no chaser in the vicinity she'd tear off down the pitch herself with the ball under her arm, just to get it far far away from the Indian side.

Jetting through the field he scooped the Quaffle in one swift motion and tucked it securely under his arm and bolted back to the rings. He scoped for English chasers to pass the Quaffle to, as he zoned passed players and kept himself alert for potential bludgers. Quote:

At first she thought it had to be a trick of the light, but as she watched it, her carefully trained eyes following the way it fluttered along - no, there was no doubt. It was the snitch!
She took off, pushing down on her broom so that she was practically perpendicular to the ground. She pulled back at the last second so she was flying straight again, her hand outstretched in front of her as she gained on the snitch. Just one more catch as all she needed!

Geffrard watched as the quaffe easily stayed with the English players, did India loose strength or were they dealing with the bludgers? He looked around for them to see, at least their keeper was on her toes. Malviya easily blocked the shot and sent the quaffle back into play.
His eyes were on the English seeker as she jetted past him and headed straight for the ground. He didn't see the snitch at first and started to wonder if her broom had been cursed but when she lifted and the snitch was in her hand his whistle was being blown!
The commentator could be heard across the stands, "ENGLAND HAS WON! ENGLAND HAS ONE! HIGGS HAS CAUGHT THE LAST SNITCH!!"
What an amazing match that was and the line officials had taken off to round up the bludgers and get all the balls back into their trunk while Geffrard motioned for both teams to land. He congratulated England and told India they did good.
What a great match it was. Final Score:
England: 160
India: 0

Groaning in frustration as Lamberto's shot was saved by the Indian keeper, Leontius whirled his broom around and followed the quaffle back into play. He spared a momentary look at Nyx as she hurtled towards the ground, but knew that it could have been a mistake, or the snitch could take off again, or the Indian seeker could swoop in and take it. Nothing was a given, and he woud work hard to try and intercept the quaffle until the last minute.
Which came sooner than he thought it would. As the official shouted the score, Leontius came to a halt on his broom before swerving around to locate Nyx. Nyx with the snitch clutched firmly in her hand.
Only when he had seen it with his own eyes did he let out a massive cheer, performing a couple of tricks on his broomstick before flying towards the England seeker. He couldn't quite believe it. Were his ears deceiving him? His eyes, too? Was this all a dream, and he was going to wake up having yet to play a match?
Someone needed to pinch the blonde chaser, who's face was torn between shock and excitement.

Lamberto huffed when India's keeper blocked his throw. However that didn't all matter, England's seeker Nyx Higgs lived up to her name as she caught the final snitch! "Yes!" Lamberto let our a cheerful holler and clapped. This was unbelievable! He had a few hiccups through some areas of the game, but managed to score one for the team with the excellent team work of his fellow chasers, beaters, keeper and of course seeker!
This was it! They did it! All the hard work paid off and Lamberto was full of glee and excitement. Landing his broom he stretched his legs and continued his cheerful celebration! Well done England, well done.

Was this real life?!?!! They had won!
Renee let out a cheer and did a few loops around the pitch, throwing in some trick moves and waving to the crowd with her signature smile. It had been a great game, of course made even better by Nyx’s amazing skills at finding the Snitch. Renee and her fellow teammates had all worked hard, of course, but Nyx had been the key to winning.
She swooped down, landing at the announcer’s instruction. ”Great work, everyone!” she said, handing out high fives and hugs to her teammates.
Of course, she wanted to congratulate the Indian team on their job well done, too. It had been an excellent match, and they had been fierce competition. That was the way Renee liked it. What an amazing day!

That was it. The match was over and Team India hadn’t even managed to score a single point. As Captain Misra hovered in midair the sting of the loss joined with the aches in his ribs and arm from the earlier. Aside from that, he was proud of his team. They had worked well in the attempt to capture the title and Cup. Raju lowered himself to the ground as he watched the members of the English team celebrate. Where were his own team members? Raju wanted to tell them how fantastic they had been. “Badhaee ho,’’ Raju said. The hand that did not hold his broomstick was extended to the English players. “That was a match well played.’’ Translation: badhaee ho = Congratulations

Shock. He was in shock.
He'd just been away to bat the nearest bludger away from Raju when he heard the whistle blow. What the .... His heart stopped and he blinked.
He felt sick.
Breathing through it, he lowered himself to the other players still trying to blink away the confusion of losing. "Congratulations... Well played... Good goal... Amazing saves." He said, making his way along the English players.

Pete could barely believe it when he heard the whistle blow and the official declaring the end of the match. It was over. They had won. They had won the World Cup! A grin spread across Pete's face and he flew toward his teammates, hugging or high fiving them in the air. Where was Nyx? She definitely deserved a hug. Three snitch catches in a row!
He was a good sport too, of course. He flew to shake the hands of the Indian players. "Good game. Well played yourselves." And he really did mean it. They had been very worthy opponents. The game had not been an easy win, not by a long shot. Though Pete had never doubted his team's ability to take the win, India had definitely put up a fight.

It all happened so fast.
Nyx felt the snitch in her hand.
The whistle blew.
They were declared victorious.
Eyes wide, Nyx looked down in her hand to make sure she wasn't hallucinating. Nope, it was there. The little snitch had stopped fluttering it's wings, relaxing contently in her outstretched palm. The roar of the crowd as they were declared the winners of the cup hit her ears like a tsunami, and she found herself breaking out in a grin. "YES! WE DID IT!" she exclaimed, pumping her fist with the air with the snitch still in her grasp.
