Harry pulled the note from the barn owl, which flew out of the window as soon as the letter was off.
It was water logged but Harry could make out the words.

Hogwarts is empty apart from that squib who keeps sneaking up on me. If I didn’t know better I’d think he wanted a friend, or protection, seeing as he hasn’t got any.
Lupin keeps visiting me though.
Grawp has learnt a lot of things and he enjoys being with the Order.

Next was the turn of Harry’s school letter. This owl also departed the moment the letter left its leg.

Dear Mr Potter,
Please note that the new school year will begin on September the first. The Hogwarts express will leave platform 9 ¾ at 11.00am.
Because of the unfortunate events that happened at the end of the last term, school is optional but Hogwarts will be safer.
A list of books for next year are enclosed.

Deputy? That meant that there was a new headmaster.
Now there was only one more letter left and it was of an eagle, with red eyes.
Harry untied it as the eagle flew off to drink some water. The last piece of parchment was in writing Harry had seen before. He stuck his hand in his pocket and pulled out a locket. He opened the locket and took the note out of it. The handwriting was exactly the same.
