No, they're not objecting to the sweets in the Great Hall scenes of the movies...because nothings being *advertised* in those scenes. Did you see 'brand name' sweets in familiar wrappers, like Nestle? No.

They're protesting the use of children's characters such as Harry Potter in order to advertise their own products, which are often unhealthy. It's like using pictures of Harry Potter on bags of Lays Chips...nine-year-olds will see Harry on the bags and think, "oh gosh, look, Harry Potter, gimme that, I want to eat those now". This is CSPI's equation of their problem:

The more advertising of Harry Potter (and other popular characters, like Spongebob) on junk = the more junk food kids eat. Result: greater nutrition problems.

The answer to their problem, in my opinion, is simple: Worry about yourselves and let parents take responsibility of what their kids eat. Let people advertise, but stress healthy nutrition to both children and adults.
