SIrius wanders the grounds of Hogwarts aimlessly. He seems to be doing it alot lately. The last few weeks are all a blur to him. Thing have changed so much. His mind has yet to stop spinning. Sirius remembers very little about what happened that night in the Hospital Wing. He blames that on the Potion Poppy gave him. It made him sleep for three days. By the time he woke up Maurice, Nick and Kristie were gone. Tonks spent most of her time with Sunny and the last people Sirius wanted to have to deal with were Snape and Marcella. Sirius ended up spending most of his time with Dumbledore. There was so much they needed to discuss.

Sirius still didn't know why the Wizengamot had pardoned him. After all these years knowing he was innocent, it didn't seem to matter much to him. After the hearing was over with, Sirius thought about returning to no. 12 Grimmauld Place and become active in the Order again, but Dumbledore vetoed the idea. He said he needed Sirius here at Hogwarts. Voldemort was still determined to destroy Marcella and Snape. While Sirius didn't care what happened to Snape, he could not abandon Marcella. Harry and she were all he had left. Protecting them is the only reason Sirius has left to live.

That night in the Hospital Wing, Sirius wanted to slip back behind the veil. He wanted to return to James, Lily, Faith, and Kristie. The only thing that kept him here was his love for Marcella and his hatred of Snape. Of course Harry still needed him too, but that was different. Harry is grown and living life on his own. He needed Sirius now more as a friend than a godfather. No matter how hard Sirius tries, he always seems to end up at Hagrid's old hut. He thinks it's deserted now. The weeds have taken over Hagrid's once beautiful gardens. Sirius guesses the reason he keeps coming back here is because James, Remus, Peter, and him spent so much time there when they were at Hogwarts. Being near it always brings back happy memories to him. Sirius stops suddenly when he sees Marcella sitting near the hut by herself. He has tried to avoid Snape and her since he got back to Hogwarts. He can't shake the feelings of guilt everytime he's around her. Sirius should have been able to protect her and her baby better than he did. Yet there she sits looking as beautiful as ever. They are going to be teaching together this term. Sooner or later he was going to have to make contact with her. Sirius could also use her help getting ready for classes. While Dumbledore has confidence in his abilities as a Transfiguration teacher and McGonagal recommended him for the job, Sirius is still not so sure he has what it takes to be a teacher. He lacks Remus's patience with students. Sirius decides the time has come to make contact with Marcella. He walks over to where she is sitting and dismisses her guard. He politely walks out of ear shot giving them some privacy. "Mind if I join you?" he asks Marcella as he stands there taking in her beauty.
