Bebe tapped her fingers together, watching them as she did. She could hear that Mark was awake, too. She longed to say something..anything.. but no words came. Bebe couldn't talk to people in normal surroundings.. and this was far.. far from normal surroundings. Her mouth tasted bad.. dry and sticky. But.. Mark's lingering smell brought a small grin to her face. He was wonderful.. Bebe didn't know anything about him, but she thought he was the world.
After several minutes of gathering up the courage, she turned her head to look at him. "Can.. um.. can I get you anything?" Her voice quavered as her eyes searched for his in the dark. |
