This is a poem i wrote a while ago, i thought i'd share. It was written when i saw one of my old high school friends at the mall and she totally ignored me.



I see you now

Across the hall

Looking away from me

Won’t you acknowledge my existence?

We were together before

Then it happened

Your feelings left

Packed up and moved on

Like I should

I should let go



But I cling to the memories

Drifting in a past we used to share

Now you shut me out

Pretend you never did it

Never delivered the final blow

To my already broken ego

Smashed it beyond repair

Now I am forever damaged

Wounded by you



I try to move on

Cover the wounds with bandages

Carefully, so as not to show the world

How heartbroken I will remain

I smile, laugh, all a lie

For you are stuck in my head

Superglued to my consciousness

No amount of strength can break it

You will be there for evermore.
